    Saw you down there today catching a few ribbon fish. My first time to Apache and I’ll be back. I mainly fish the outer banks but I may start coming down here more often. Thanks for the videos

    I got the straw system made up but all I have is bass rods will it still work with a shorter rod

    The longer the rod the easier it is to jig up and down. But any rod will work.

    Our bluefish recipe- Filet them out Soak overnight in buttermilk Bread fillets in a 50/50 mix of house Autry CHICKEN breader and flour Fry Best fish I have ever had- love ‘em more than Spanish!👌🏻👌🏻

    It is a jigging rod, it helps get farther out.

    In mid April the Spanish mackerel arrive as well as the blue fish. 65 to 70 degree water temp and it's on!!!

    What size hooks are used with the straw's and about how far apart do you keep them ?

    I like 4/0 hooks but 3/0 will work also. Tie them about 12 to 15 inches apart and happy fishing.

    My rod is a 15 ft surf fishing rod. Look them up on line.
