i think this sounds way better than the JHM exhaust and likely makes the same power. You could package this with instructions and sell it for sure! Imagine this in titanium or inconel.

Hello did you see any problems in using a 2mm 304 tubes? As aftermarket and oem are normally 1.2-1.5mm max, I went to a shop to see these parts and they definitely seemed a bit heavy to me. Do you think your entire exhaust system is lighter than the original one, or is it practically the same weight as you used 2mm pipes.

I'm no problem with the 304 2mm tubes! I think it is the same weight or a little bit more than OEM and this is stainless steel 304 3inch (76.1mm) which I have been using and most aftermarket exhausts go up to 2.75inch (70mm). but my experience and the blue rs5 keep it with 2.75 inch tube you then have a little more space around the exhaust

@@RmProjects Yes as I thought so. I’m looking in to finding enough 1.5mm tube, as this will have the advantage of being a bit lighter. But my ideal diameter will be 2.5 inch I think, milltek is only like 2.2 inch, so maybe a large diameter is not needed.

Very nice. What mufflers are they? I have catless downpipes with x pipe and Audi sports optional mufflers. But my valves rattle a lot at lower RPM when closed. Do yours rattle? I can’t seem to find a fix to make them shut tighter to stop moving from the higher exhaust flow.

Catless downpipes do not exist, the catalytic converter is located on the manifold, and to remove it you must drop te engine and gearbox. I believe JHM offer this service in the usa, I’m currently working on my headers my self to get them optimised, after I gutted the cats a few years ago.

@@dan2fast4you21 Yes. When my engine was dropped to replace the starter motor, which turned out to be a seized engine, I took the opportunity to have an exhaust fabrication shop here cut the cats out and straight pipe the headers. Before that I did have them gutted after one of the cats melted.

@@olik9388 yes same happened to me my L cat went flying out the back, I have a vide of this lol. The next day I went to manually break the other cat. Do you have a picture of how your fabrication shop straightpiped your headers? What seized in your engine?

@@dan2fast4you21 These are my headers: Audi RS5 B8 Headers kzread.infobG-gckJN7QE?feature=share I have no idea what went wrong, and mechanics at the Audi dealership here are the most incompetent individuals I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. No start engine, they had the whole engine out of the car and didn’t once think to try turning the crank to rule out a seized engine. They put it back in with a new starter and only then realised it wasn’t a starter issue… So they though I should pay for them ripping it out a second time. They could not diagnose what went wrong - I’m not surprised. It had issues with the oil level sensor, so cold have been low oil and not detected after oil change. A friend has the engine now and will turn it into a coffee table for his man cave.

@@olik9388 Nice and simple header job!! I’m going to thermowrap them as well, to keep engine bay temps down. I’m sorry for your engine and crazy story with the dealership technicians, here in europe several engines seized up at idle after improper walnut blasting. Otherwise I’ve heard of valves mostly breaking off randomly. If the engine just seized you should try to get it rebuilt I would say, there’s hardly major damage as in cracked blocks.
