You know that the Price was the real winner. The unlimate sheep baron.

I play this game IRL with my in-laws all the time, we have some house rules we use from some of the expansions. Our favorite: If you don't have any resources roll, you get a gold, two gold can be exchanged for one of any resource. This really helps with the duldrums of having nothing happen for turn after turn, and speeds the game up a little.

Can you do more of this game? It was fun watching this

At least 2x people put the robber on a resource they were desperate for.. even though they didn't have an adjacent settlement, it doesn't make sense to reduce the amount available for trades.

It kind of does, because if they can't get it anyway and the other players wouldn't trade you then you might as well stop them from getting it and just rely on bank trades.

Cities and Knights is a must play. They also built it to be playable with other expansions but I always play this one by default with friends because it just adds so much more to the basic game without changing the board size or tiles

I prefer Explorers and Pirates, but C&K is pretty neat too.

Price is the best Sheepsman.. Also, thank you so much for the brief and simple explanation for how the game's played. Despite my utter nerdiness, I never happened to play Catan

I had the board game since the late 90s/early 2000s - now my brother got it with all (in Germany) available expansions.

Ik that they haven't played catan much but blood and ashes Ash, you could have built a city much to your benefit and you give it all to price.

So many mistakes were made! This was a lot of fun to watch, though. In my opinion, Seafarers is where the real fun begins. The standard map quickly becomes too limited and boring. Cities and Knights on the other hand is way too complex. Not sure which of the countless other variants and scenarios this PC version includes.

You know...if this KZread thing doesn't work out, you could consider sheep farming.

I really enjoy it when you play these boardgames. Makes me want to open the game drawer and play these games again. Keep this content coming! ;-)

There were a few weird plays here. Like sitting on 2 wheat and 3 stone and not making a city when over 7 cards.

I love the "in my last game sheep was barren" when it's literally both the most produced and populated resource on this board.

As a someone who is learning to play this game, this has been a treat. Even though its prolonged the drama is so awesome, like how Price started off with the lead then Jas dominating most of the turn while rooting for Ash. Then Ash comes in to dominate right (leaving more options to extend his Longest Road perk, proud of you bruh) at the end just for everyone to lose to Jas's secret development card/VP & smart choices with the City placement and upgrades . I Love that there's so many ways to win in this game, can't wait to try this to have a blast and get salty at the same time while also complaining about "luck" & "Statistics". Thanks guys

I’m a Catan noob but I think Rik will win based on his starting placements. He’s got good access to sheep wheat stone which is vital for development and cities iirc.

My family won’t play with the four player board. We always add in the expansion tiles.

Catan works fine with 4 players, but in my opinion it's best with the expanded board (4 players just pack the 3 player board too tightly). But that ain't official, the rulebook definitely wants 4 players to use the smaller board.

There were a lot of things Ash could have done that he should have...such as building a city when he had the opportunity and building to the wood trader

I don't see how you could make this game last close to 2 hours. Whenever I play this with my brother and a few of his friends, we always end the game in under an hour, closer to maybe 40 minutes. I get that it's a video game version, but still

@Stumpt Long vowel a instead of short a (as in the a in "lawn", not short a like "apple"). He wrote it differently to make it more obvious what he meant. I do tend to prefer that way because it's more mirrored than mixing up the consonents, but despite googling it several times I never remember which method is correct.

Ehh. It doesnt bother me much. I assumed it was pronounced the latter. It rolls off the tongue better.

It only took price 15 minutes in this time to complain. New record?
