@@anisahemad6968 I will probably use sodium metabisulfite method for rhodium refining. I also think of using KOH method, but for this I have to get rhodium dissolving first, which is rather hard to do. Rhodium recovery itself uses not so dangerous chemicals (when done with care) by KOH or sodium metabisulfite route. The most dangerous part is the PGM solution itself, that can cause platinosis when handled in a way it gets on your skin.

@@anisahemad6968 It should when rhodium is dissolved in acid and you add KOH solution to it. It should precipitate as Rh(OH3). It's a lemon yellow precipitate.

That apple green solution likely is a rhodium oxychloride complex, the pink transition when naoh was added probably was a rhodium ammonium complex. I did similar chemistry years ago and extracted the metals one by one. The trick is not overdoing the titration.

Legality of the process depends on your country's law around the subject. I don't believe it's illegal but you never know. Chemicals are cheap here (25l of HCl is around 18eur, 1l of H2O2 is 8eur and DMG is the most expensive - 100g for around 20eur). The total investment depends on how cheap you will get the catalysts+chemicals.

It seems that there is about 20 seconds of footage missing at the end of the video. But it's really nothing. Just some neutralization and filtering.

After watching all five videos I guess I’ll just go to my local coin shop and buy a platinum and palladium coin as it’s cheaper! There’s a part of my life I’ll never get back! Waste of converters, chemicals, time, a crap load of chemical waste, and absolutely no metal yield!
