An island paradise and perfect weekend getaway for families, Catalina Island gets better each time I visit. This was my first time with my 1.5 year old daughter and I think it was the most fun. We arrived on Friday afternoon, taking the Catalina Express ferry from Long Beach, and made the most of every minute until our departure on Sunday afternoon.
Our hotel, the restaurants and all our day activities were so fun for all ages, we already are planning a trip back.
Top Tips:
Hotel Atwater: Brand new after a renovation, this 100 year old hotel is stunning and so convenient.
Avalon Grille: the poshest place in town but still easy with kids
Descanso Beach Club: water sports, lounging and outdoor eats--this sandy beach might be my favorite in California.
Zip Line Eco Tour: Not for the little kids, but big kids and adults will love this thrilling yet beautiful zip line tour over the canyons
Mini Golf Gardens: beautifully landscaped mini golf in the heart of town
Undersea Expedition: A semi submersible underwater tour of the marine life around island and great for little kids all the way up!
