One thing I'll add. If you hit 450 in the pre patch you can just save up fragments for Cata launch. 200 of each I believe is the max so if you save up 200 of each hitting 525 will only take a couple minutes at launch.

Good guide! I agree, leveling Archeology in Northrend is the worst. Sites are far from each other, 4 different races, huge dig sites and all mobs attacking you. Go to Northrend only if you need Nerubian or Vrykul segments after you lvl to the max. Once you reach 300, lvl 300 to 450 in Outland! It's clearly the best continent to lvl Archeology. Just 2 races, so very fast stack for fragments, a lot of small dig sites and most of them will be in Hellfire, Terokkar, Nagrand and Shadowmoon. All 4 zones beside to each other, so fast travelling. It took me around 90 mins to do 300 to 450.

You can do it on your gathering character and send the epics to your main.

Do you know if you can get rare artifacts from a Race on the same char twice? Or are the rare artifacts unique per char and race?

I’m not sure as there’s currently a few bugs with the profession

But can you get the epics yet? I heard you first have to learn the last rank from the trainer, i.e. 450-525 or can they drop from 450 skill?

Archeology is a secondary profession, so it doesn't take a primary spot.

I would completely skip Outland and Northrend since there is nothing much to gain here. In the old world you can allready farm the epics. E.g. I got Tyrande's doll.

Stil havnt managed to turn Zinrock around? Only been 14 years. Take your time Blizz 👌🏻

450 is the requirement for the epics. I'm unaware if they're active atm though. Wait until someone confirms they're available or wait until Cata actually launches once you hit 450. That's my plan anyway.

Yes. Sword is from trolls, and staff is from dwarfs, but you need at least 350 skill, AFAIK.

Good luck with destroyer of worlds ive had over 4k solves still havent got it. The caster staff from the dwarfs is easy though so is the ring and healing trinket.
