@@Earadon Given the fauna of their planet, their lack of supplies, the cheap price of flak armor, the fact that the mechanicus notoriously uses everything including plant matter to build these vests and the fact that the departmento munitorum delivers them to all regiments it is safe to assume that their armor rating comes from the fact they all have eaten a vest. Best meal to be have on the planet. At least the safest.

Ah yes, Catachan. A world so brutal, being sent to literally any other planet, not matter how deadly, is considered a "vacation."

@ChypnotiC Pl But that is, as you say yourself, only a matter of gear, not of attitude. Give them the same equipment as a Krieg Death Korps soldier and considering that Catachans are much, _much_ stronger due to their insane muscle density, they might even do better than the Krieg Guard. Apart from situations of course, that require the wish to attack a Titan with a bayonett. Then the Death Korps will exceed with ease.

The fact that you haven't been offered a job by the Black Library is heresy of the highest caliber.

Without doing any sort of research to back this up I'm willing to bet Catachan jungle fighters were introduced into 40k within 6-12 months of Predator being released.

Baldermort they keep getting better and better man you are quickly becoming my favorite 40k lore channel hands down.

Nice to have a conclusion to what happened after the Lictors vid, once again a brilliant piece of writing and narration.

The more I learn about the factions of the Astra Militarun/Wall of Guns, the harder it gets to decide which faction I wanna get for kill team/army. Do i go Krieg for the raw fervor and shovel kills. Do I go catachan for the Predator/80s badass action vibes. So on and so on.

This is what I really miss about the 4th edition codex, doctrines let you create any sort of Guard regiment you wanted from my amalgamated orphaned survivors veteran regiment to super high tech carapace guards with camoline coated armour (yes you could do that although it would be ungodly expensive per squad) the insane variation was great fun (plus you got to see looks of amazement on other players faced when you went fully unconventional, like me an a mate dropping 100 Carapace armoured Guardsmen and stormtroopers straight on top of an enemy)

Many of us who play IG have our main army, and have made platoons of the more iconic regiments for giggles, or use as "attachments".

All of you intro stories are class, but for some reason this is my favorite. The resignation... your voice acting and story are unbelievable

As a Cadian and Catachan Guard player you did my Jungle Warriors proud. Perfect timing too since today I was working on painting my Catachan troops up. They are going to be Jurassic Park themed, their tanks are going to look awesome once I figure out the best primer for my project. This was an amazing story and I am super pumped for what's coming this Friday!

I love the Catachan, truly superhuman by time and survival and natural selection. Truly legendary. My most favorites are 1. The Catachan, 2. The Mordian Iron Guard, 3. The Vostroyans, 4. The Death Corp of Krieg, and, despite retcons, despite soooo many changes and an ignominious doom for their race and their world, my favorite guard regiment of Abhumans is still....THE SQUATS! (can hardly wait till Friday, Good Chronicler:)

I love Catachan fighters, I feel like they don't get enough coverage in the lore. They are often overshadowed by their younger brothers the death korps of krieg.

Ah, Catachans. If any of them loses his BALLS during a fight he would probably laugh and say the enemy could use some, for he has plenty. Excellent story, I really liked it and I'm excited for the upcoming next. Happy gas mask noises!

well that would just be too unfair for the xenos i mean just imagine a bunch of space marines wearing little to no power armor being lead by essentially a giant version of sly marbo. khorne may have had a war boner for the world eaters in the current timeline but let me tell ya give him a catachan world eaters and you'd be able to pierce adamantium like it was tissue paper with how hard he'd be

@@baldermort I mean, there would´ve probaably been a few other regiments who could´ve killed aa lictor... But not without sending a couple hundred lasbeams or projectiles through the room. But in turn catachans really suck at fighting in trenches or god emperor forbid, OPEN FIELDS!

For little more then the last decade or so I have been avoiding Warhammer 40k, not wanting to start another book-series, that would take forever to read. A week ago I stubled over your chanel by chance, completely crashed my sleep-sceduel and orderd the first book. Your way of telling these storys is breathtaking.

@@baldermort You sell yourself too short! Lol. As a baker's son, I know what goes into "simple" puff pastry, and the end result is delectable. Can't have a good Wellington without it after all. As to looking forward, I look forward to your Krieg video with more anticipation than I do any upcoming season of "proper" sci-fi TV shows.

The black library has no shortage of good writers, but these narrations are emotionally compelling in a way that few others are. I had been reclining in bed listening to this narration but when it became clear we would have a finale to the lictor saga I sat up as if it were an address from the president
