Thank you again Alex. Especially because I did order some high quality HDMI cables as you said ranging from 30 to 50 feet and they all worked even in both directions! I'm installing them at a newly opening restaurant /bar and haven't been able to test them for a long length of time yet but initially they all worked!

I have ran HDMI 50m to the Atem and have also ran cat6 extender 300m to a outdoor big screen. I imagine it would also depend on all the variables on the devices we use. The long distances were achieved on the Canon 5D3 and Canon XC10 but I cannon recall the HDMI cable brand or the extenders and cat6 cables. I have not done this with any other cameras so I do not know how others would behave

Thank you, Alex! We are in the infancy of setting up a streaming system for the local high school sports programs. (Thanks, covid!) To get up and running fast, we used 50’ hdmi cables to the cameras but I really need to spread the cameras out more to make for more interesting transitions between angles. I was thinking about trying this and here you already did the testing for me! Thanks again.

@@FenixEventProductions agreed. We now use the generic SDI-HDMI converters available on eBay for about $30 each. I make my own SDI cables from a cheap spool of quad shield coax and some budget connectors I found on eBay. The other options just weren’t reliable enough.

@@ChiefNonsense Thats great. You are better off with generic converters as most bypass HDCP and will be less of a headache in the future. HDMI is consumer grade equipment, not pro grade. I dont run longer than 5' HDMI cables, its just not reliable and the connection head is its weak point, they tend to bend and break easily.

I can testify to the good image quality of 50m Cat6 runs. They'd be great for a one time set-and-forget studio cable run, but I'd really suggest SDI converters for anyone who; 1) will be setting up in the field (well shielded Cat6 is a pain to run and tack down, and not hugely cheaper) and/or 2) has an inkling that they may need to use, rent or buy an SDI capable mixer (ever, or at least in the next few years). Units are not much more in cost, *but* that gets you a lot more flexible setup. Literally and figuratively :D

Maybe synced clocks to show the latency of the long cable would have been a good thing to show. You showed the latency of a short cable but not with long cable - so when you showed the pocket outside saying it was live - it could have been a full second out and on your video would have appeared "Live". Can this somehow be connected to a WiFi hub to perform a wireless send?

I'm using a similar solution which also works well but the big annoyance with all of the extenders is having the power plugged in at the TX end! Great that you only need power at one end but for us it would be much more practical to have it at the Rx end where we have powerblocks to drive all our other gear. I typically don't have anywhere to plug in at the camera TX end so yet another battery required........ or extension cables running all over the shop so frustrating.

I found an issue if I use the PWAY on the HDMI output from ATEM, the picture frames being funny. I think it is a mismatch in the frame rate (I thought everything is 1920x1080 60Hz) when I use it with the HMDI output. Do you know where I can adjust the ATEM output frame rate? So I can fix this issue?

I wonder if I could use only the transmitter to my projector, cuz the projector has a cat6 input already.

Good question, im not sure on the answer. But what im sure is that the BMPCC4K and 6K HDMI output is only 1080p, no 4K

Thanks, a lot! As I'm planning to bring live ice hockey games, with 3 cameras, on the ATEM Mini PRO, my big question was : - Well I only see guys playing with that in like a "mini studio" but, how far can I go with my HDMI cables, before I loose my signal. Ha! With a CAT6 (I'll go for the CAT7) HDMI extender... You made my evening!

Lets say you have multiple switches, connected with fiber-cable. Would it then be possible to place the transmitter in location A, and the received in Location C (all connected with switches and fiber-cables, so its the same network), but the total distance is like 20km ... Would these boxes work? :)

Can you test and show us wireless receiver and transmitters between camera and ATEM Mini or mini pro (similar to the cat6 extender in this video)?

I was looking into HDMI/CAT6 extenders a few weeks ago because I have an event (high school graduation outdoors) very soon where I need some long (about 60 meters / 200 feet) cable runs for two cameras to my ATEM mini pro. That is not what I purchased the mini pro for, it just an event that came up that I need to do. After reading lots of posts here and there and watching numerous videos about extenders, I decided that, to use a UK term, it was just too "fidly" to take a chance on with the extra connections, power supplies, weather, kids, vehicles, etc. So I purchased a couple sets of the Hollyland Mars 400s HDMI transmitter/receivers. More money for sure but less problems to sort out when things go wrong in the heat of the battle and I am working with teenage students. However, I think I will get some extenders for those events where I can protect my cables better. Your video was excellent and really convinced me to get some extenders for the future. Thank you. Perhaps future video on the mini pro running hot.

I tried the exact extenders that you have and wanted to send signal from hdmi out of a atem mini to a 4k tv, and would not work. Maybe needs to be a camera for it to work correctly like your example

I tried this with the first atem mini, didn't work. Was there an update on the firmware that now allows this? Or do I have to upgrade to the pro which has different hardware?

I have a setup where my video out put is a hdmi output. I have to provide input to three different HD tvs which are 60 feet from my video source. What will be the best and low budget way to do it.

Not 100% sure how it might impact quality but perhaps running your video output into one of these extenders, and then run the extender into an hdmi switcher would work. That is assuming your monitors are close enough together.
