Yes, quite literally. It wanted to attack the housecat, but bobcats still see humans as too much of a threat for the most part. The glass door and the person filming prevented the attack, basically.

My cat does this at the window in my room typically 2am. 2 hours before my work alarm. Just scoop her up with her front legs around my fingers. She's extra pissed but out of the room

It's because they are in fight or flight mode. They don't mean to hurt you. It's all instinct at that point.

The bobcat has absolutely no fear of the house cat. Its only concern is the large human filming. Truly a fearsome small cat.

Facts… if the glass and human weren’t there, that small grey cat would get floored and immediately chicken out of the fight. That bobcat wouldn’t even be challenged, look how much more toned and muscular it is than that little wimpy mitten kitten. A friend of mine in New Mexico rescued and fostered 2 wolves on her ranch property. At night some of the neighborhood dogs would bark. And there a bit later the coyotes would yelp. After a while the pair of wolves would do these long piercing howls. Then those dogs got real quiet and so did the coyotes. There's definetly a canine pecking order out there , as there is with cats.

I feel like a cat seeing a massive scary version of a cat like creature would be equivalent of us seeing like a demon.

The smaller/weaker cat felt the need to make piercing screeches and hisses to intimidate, yet the stronger/bigger bobcat didn't make a sound as he wasn't intimidated at all. This usually applies to humans as well lol

+osamabad Bobcats DO eat house cats. I had over 20 ferals on my place until a Bobcat took up residence. It ate them all. I found all the bones in a depression behind my shed when I mowed that spring.

The cat successfully protected his human pet.

My cat stands her ground as well. A young 7-8 year old boy came up to my window and was making a gesture of hitting her through the screen. She stood her ground and hissed and showed her teeth to him, and when he made the punching gesture it only pissed her off more. And she typically runs away when people come over. My windows are tinted and I was watching for a minute before I whipped my sliding glass door open and asked him in a calm voice what was going on. I surprised him and he said he was looking at the bees making honey. Then pointed to a wasp nest under my deck railing that he was standing 2 feet from. Little kid lying so young and standing that close to some of the nastiest wasps around. This kid may be in for a tough life.

Bobcat has a look of "Is the cat serious?'

Bobcat was like, "What a pussy!"

The bobcat has a joker grin...probably was looking at both the owner and the cat and asked "why so serious?"

It is the most beautiful bobcat that I have ever seen.

Hahah, poor guy. It's like if your cocker spaniel suddenly discovered a giant timber wolf peering through the window. All in all, kitty's response is quite brave and appropriate. Nature shows that it's not always the biggest or strongest, but the animal that is the most desperate and determined. Unless that bobcat was hungry, it might have simply decided the screeching critter was too much trouble.

Actually thats wrong. Cats react savagely to other animals that are their size, or something that moves like one. My cat reacts the same to my Robosapien lol

+Andreas Frosty No they specifically make those sounds when fighting cats. Without even seeing the video I can just tell by Audio when its 2 cats fighting vs a when a cat is fighting a racoon or dog, etc

+Andreas Frosty I don t even know what you are talking about...this is not up for a debate. the sounds you hear the cat making....are specific sounds it makes when fighting other cats...I am not talking about the hissing and growling...it makes specific sounds when arguing or about to fight other cats. It does not make those same sounds when getting ready to fight a dog, racoon, opossum, etc. This is common knowledge. Everyone knows this. This is a stupid debate. If your cat doesn't do the same then your cat is the only one in the world that doesnt do it. Case closed

We live just outside Sequoia National Park in the Sierra Foothills. Bobcats LOVE to prey on Domestic Cats. We’ve had three Cats in the 25 years we’ve lived in this home. All outdoor Cats and they all just showed up. Pretty Feral but domesticated to us. We’re down to one cat now, One died of Snakebite a couple years back. Our Big Tabby “Marshall” lived to be 20 and died of old age. He was a TOUGH cat. He weighed about 20 pounds. I saw him fight the same young Bobcat twice in one night and walk away. He also survived a Rattlesnake bite years ago. We always contended that he was the measure of toughness here in Pumpkin Hollow. Around here there are two kinds of Housecat. The quick and the Dead. That Bobcat was looking for lunch. And the cat knew it. Cheers.

Lol that cat is gonna be a 16 year old old man now and all the scrappy young cats are like "here gramps goes again about the cat that was four times as big as him with paws half the size of his body. Ok old man yeah I'm sure there is a bigfoot cat yup I'm sure you drank yourself silly and saw him clear as day (snigger)"

That cat was not happy to see its big cousin outside.

My dad had a pet bobcat growing up named Bobbie. RIP.
