Some cats have a very low prey drive. You might try adopting a senior cat? They tend to be much more 'meh' about small animals. I would recommend bringing small animal toys and maybe some cockatiel videos loaded up on your phone to play and see how the cats react in the shelter, though.

Yes, cats do make excellent pet companions, but so do all animals. I have 3 cats that love me unconditionally, and I give them all the same love back. They love it when I try to make sense of what they want when they talk to me, and in a strange way I do, when I talk to them, they seem to know what I'm saying as any animal would if you talk to them. I love my 3 little guys, wouldn't trade them for any reason. I love your videos Chris, thank you so much for sharing.
