You are a very skilled operator, quick, and very efficient. I really enjoy watching your videos! I also love the length of them, it gives us a good perspective on the job you are doing. Careful weighing of your scoops, keeps the drivers and your bosses happy. Thank you for taking time out of your day to make these very good videos, and share them with us. Stay safe, my friend, and take care. My name is Kevin, I'm from Colorado, U.S.A. I look forward to seeing more of your videos in the future! :)

We enjoy your videos. It's fun to watch you clear snow off the roadway too. Silly question: what would weigh more-a scoop of that larger rock you were handling starting at 9:00 into the video or a scoop full of sand? My wife says sand and I say rock.

Sand will weigh more than rock the rock has to many voids when it's in the bucket I do loadout just like he is doing

Thanks, Paul. I was thinking that the rock might have more density than loose sand. Thinking on that again I reason that rock is composed of grains like sand. Those grains do not compress because they are in the form of a rock. As you explain, there are big spaces between the rocks in a bucket. Sand has no voids. Cheers! :)

The video was 20 minutes longer than it needed to be. Great content though.

I would imagine the dirt and rocks mix is a good road base, and I cannot imagine them selling it as rock only.

How do you know what material each truck wants

  • @deletzy1326

They got CB radio, so the trucks usually call in what type, and how much they want. In other places tho they dont have a radio, so they use hand signals and the trucks just go to the pile of rocks they want

In the more modern pits over here they pull the truck up to a station when entering the pit where they swipe a "truck card" that has all the details, then you enter the customer and the fraction you want, and then the loader gets the order on a screen basicly...

I don't understand why the dump truck being loaded w/ rock(around 5:10 in the video) doesn't have a tailgate?? That's irresponsible!

@@reaperv8 We call it "spill-gate" roughly translated.. It keeps the load from spilling off, but allso have the advantage of getting the material further away from the truck when tipping...
