Casual gaming is dead because of Triple A companies shaft too much on multiplayer and streamers and MLG have open the floodgate of losers and Tryhards now casual gaming is Tryhard central and it's sad now multiplayer is so unplayable now time to go city skylines and indie games to have fun.

This mirrors my experience. Something has drastically changed in the last few years. I know dozens of gamers in RL and used to organize local LAN tournaments for more than 10 years (2005-2017) and I can tell you the average gamer around me is a normal human, with normal reaction time and okayish aim. Of all the people I know only 1 or 2 guys have better aim than me. But when I hop online the MAJORITY of people are insanely cracked, always ready for you and never miss. It's fishy as fuck.

There needs to be a case study on the psychology of cheaters in online games. Somehow they've twisted it enough in their minds to think that they are actually good at the game, thinking that even if they weren't using cheats and gaining an unfair advantage of their adversaries that they'd still be good

Mercenary team death match was a playlist in the older CoD games where EVERYONE was a solo player. We need more games with this as a feature. It’s either i’m playing with a sweaty team, or i’m just gonna play co-op or single player.

For me personally, the rise of MLG/Pro gaming had a damaging impact on the gaming sector. Games in general changed & a lot of games ditched the actual experience, especially for the casual gamer and here we are today where 90% of the player base are try hards.

I've always been a multiplayer guy when it comes to gaming but honestly this year and with the downfall of cod, I've just been playing random single-player games and been having a blast. As you said Si it's these greedy devs who don't want to make new games but just add DLC and more cosmetics for idiots to buy. Gaming is down bad these days 100%

Sbmm is the blame imo. If you're relatively decent every lobby/game will feel like mlg tournaments. As a 3.7 kd solo cod player it becomes unbearable some days. Blame the publishing studio i.e Activision and whoever else made fortnite and apex

I feel it bro, I have a 2.75 on warzone rebirth and it’s rough, every single lobby is unbearable, even if I am playing with a couple of lower skilled players the lobby’s will be ruthless all day every day, warzone is next to unplayable because of this.. it’s not fun at all and becomes more of a task to play than enjoy! Sbmm is a joke!

Precisely. And that's also why clinical psychologists say there's an element of sociopathology or even psychopathology to this phenomenon. A lot of people believe they cannot achieve success in most things, and they resort to cheating; worse than that, many take pleasure in ruining the gameplay for others. In essence, multiplayer gaming is doomed until ML starts catching cheaters. And most devs and studios are not willing to spend money in ML based anti-cheat systems.

I mean when I was younger I didn’t care I just played the game with friends or by myself. Exactly right. 💯 I don't know if that's as high as 75%, but at the very least 30% of people cheat. And most streamers cheat Curiously, Devs (Respawn and DICE) know this and internal memos show discussions in which they assume above 50% of people cheat. That simple. They will not acknowledge this publicly, but that's what they say behind close doors. Titanfall 2, Apex Legends, Battlefield 1/V/4 and CoD Warzone are filled with cheaters.

usually when I call out a prominent youtuber for suspicous gameplay people in the comments will chime in and help me to see what I missed. Recently I did that when I watched him one clip someone thru Thermite flames in Apex (you couldn't see anything on the screen) and I asked if it was aim assist (controller on PC) and how did he know that person was there? Crickets, no community interaction or comments on my statement. As for the SBMM Fortnite has really good matchmaking, they got it right, so why do Apex devs complain about how hard it is to get right? The cheating is out of hand in some games though. I feel Apex has the least amount overall than Warzone or PUBG. I play PUBG casual mode and almost always die to something I did wrong, bad positioning etc. If I play in regular pubs I always die from someone I've seen dominating the kill feed from some ridiculous angle or distance. I'll stop ranting but just want you to know you aren't the only one noticing the trend.

I bought a PS5 just for Blackout, after half a year i soled the device again because of the cheating problem in Blackout. Solo's and Duo's in Blackout are unplayable because of the amount of teamers. Not to mention the amount of TTV sweats in Blackout, horrible. Combined that with cronus, modded controllers and strike packs it's fair to say console also has a huge cheating problem!!

Had fun for a bit until the SBMM started putting me in the sweat/cheat lobbies. Im pretty much done. Single player, campaign mode games only for me from now on. Maybe some PvE online but never ever PvP again.

I agree that gaming (at the moment) is tailored towards the hardcores. I loved Apex when I started playing because I loved the characters, the environments, the graphics and, of course, the improvement curve is steep at first. But as a casual player I got quickly left behind by my hardcore friends who are way more committed to gaming than I am. Whenever I think about getting on now, I imagine myself looting for 10 minutes and then getting wiped out in the first gunfight I get into. I'll usually put in a single player game instead that lets me control the difficulty.

See, I’ve heard sweats and tryhards say that they’re not ruining the experience Well, you kinda are, but I don’t mean for the casuals You’re taking it so seriously, to the point where when a casual wins, you get all angry and obnoxious, and just sour the victory for the casual, and if you beat the casual, you not only rub it in that you won, but in the end, the only sense of enjoyment you get, is from seeing the other person in pain, the win doesn’t make you feel any better If you’re only playing to win, but the most you get out of that win is a small spark of joy, then it’s a sign you should stop playing for a while, because dude, you’re not even enjoying yourself Playing games casually makes for a fun and enjoyable experience, playing 24/7 and only being in it for a win, that’s just gonna ruin you You’re not ruining the game for just others, you’re ruining it for yourself Get off the game, play casually And if you’re just casually good, alright, I’ll get off your case But you can TELL the difference between someone who’s casually good…and a fucking sweat lord Casually good players first of all, treat others respectfully in games, sweats, meh, they just kinda ignore or act disrespectfully toward others

Apex is a game you should play solo actually. If you play with a full squad of friends you get absolutely destroyed unless you are like top 10-20 percent of the playerbase. It doesnt matter if its ranked or pubs the sweatlevel is absolutely insane. I can only enjoy this game if I play alone and team up with two randoms in pubs. Its like the oposite to Warzone where the experience of teaming up with randoms is horrible and playing with friends is much more enjoyable.

I think the biggest gripe that comes with online gaming is the players it has, it's not that they're sweaty players by any means its that they simply have more experience and hours underneath their belts than newer/casual players will ever accumulate. The meta, game plan, and strategies are all set in stone and have been established before you were born. Often times these players will not get up to play another game but will instead remain rather than have to learn to play another game and it may sound like I'm saying that out of spite or something but its the truth some people are just selfish, complacent, and frankly killjoys. Maybe that's not the only factor when it comes to performing good in matches, there's also a matter of learning and practicing the game's mechanics and etc. but many games today are simply too complex. The idea of a video game should be that its easy to pick up and play however that just hasn't been the case for many years now. Then with the advent of the internet its also been easy for players to cling onto builds, classes, and loadouts to win as more often and in general learn more about the game. And so the entry to an online game requires extensive hours of knowledge and practice underneath your belt and if you don't do your homework like everybody else guess who gets flamed or stomped from the get go. I'm no slouch or have been sleeping under a rock but that's just seems ludicrous to ask of a player especially a new one and no offensive I'd rather use my spare time to learn about other things. If anything the reason many games are this way now is because they've become a very lucrative business endeavor and they need lots of player engagement and retention and whatnot. Then the cherry on top of all that they ask you for 10-20 bucks for cosmetics, passes, and characters (even?), sorry but not sorry that isn't my cup of tea.

@@FreshPrincex4 This is just how the game is, I understand what your are trying say but, I'm not cheating and when you talk about experience this is the best way to have a good experience without having to cheat and anyone can do this and are doing it. What this also means you can join up with any of your friends regardless of how good you are and they are and enjoy the game with them. Its not about destroying bad players because they would most likely get owned in a regular lobby as well.

Casuals ARE sweats and cheaters. Gamers treat their gaming non-casually. Casuals dont want to work to get better in games so they cheat or become sweats who do everything they can to get ahead except for actually learning to play better...
