Kalle Koschinsky’s “Castrop x Spandau” Making of Part 1 with English subtitles. Bam. Took me only 4 hours roughly, why work for my actual job if I can just as well try to translate the most horrible mash-up of voices blabbering in the most obnoxious slang you can find :P
I didn’t translate the lyrics of Castrop x Spandau in the video because well, you know the song? Idk if there’s a translation available anywhere, if so: Respect. There’s so much slang in it, it’s horrible. (I just googled it and I think the word ‘abtauben’ does not even exist lol)
A few words in italics weren’t translated either, for example Moin, which is used by Kalle in the beginning, means “(Good) morning” and is used mostly in northern Germany (Kalle was born in Bremen) at pretty much ANY time of the day
Brudi is a diminutive of Bruder, literally “brother”, usually used to address a friend (but in that context I’m not sure what Kevin means when he uses it lol)
Dan and whoever’s filming call Kevin Opfer, which is literally something like “victim”. In English you’d probably use doormat to refer to that type of person, but I’m sure this doesn’t cover half of the contexts where Opfer is used
Alter, literally sth like “old man”, in fact is either a way of addressing someone, a way of expressing surprise, admiration, awe, annoyance or whatever or just a filler that is preferably used to start or end a sentence
Junge, literally “boy”, is ... idk, used in a similar context like Alter
uhm... what else... I wasn’t always sure who’s speaking, so I might be wrong and often I just wrote “someone” because I had no clue
sometimes I didn’t get what they say at all because they were blabbering all at the same time, the background music was playing, whatever...

If I ever find the time 😅 I planned to do that, but life is getting in my way.
Also, since I just read your description. I believe that all these Alter, Junge etc translate best to "dude". "Richtiges Opfer" has some "What a loser" vibes to it, doesn't it? Regarding "abtauben", I believe this word was created during reacting to WGTM reaction videos and would be translated to "pigeoning" (which also doesn't exist in English dictionary, so it makes soooo much sense :P )

I'd like to pin this comment, but I don't know if that works, I can't find it. But thanks for the addition. I think I discovered the pigeoning-reference shortly after translating this video and I never added it to the description. But the rest are fairly good translations of the slang used!
