One of my favorite games I played as a kid. Idk why people didn't like this game.

The camera can be a problem for some people, but I have no big issues with it or the game in general. I love it as well. Let's hope Konami re-release it alongside Curse of Darkness in a collection. Fingers crossed.

this game is awesome. i long play it because i love the button smasher feel and miniboss and boss fights

Both the layout and structure of the recording and the actual speedrun itself is super good. I like seeing each individual thing you save time on. Good shit!

For doppelganger fight, is purple holy water not faster? I don't use crystal at all so I'm curious why you used it there, fantastic run btw I've been playing this game since it came out and I've never thought about any of these boss strats, absolutely loved watching

Usually yellow crystal is faster but I messed up the strat there

It’s crazy that In the ps3 port they didn’t get rid of duplication. I found a spot in the garden and in house where you can duplicate items. I have never seen them mentioned anywhere online back when the game was fairly new.

There are actually 3 dupe spots in garden. In other categories we use one of the spots there. I didn't know about the spot in house of sacred remains though

You have to open your inventory at certain places and then just go through the items. This only works on the NTSC versions of the game.

How are you capturing your PS2 footage? Grats on WR!

Actually, I’m playing on an emulator on PC. Therefore, I can easily record on obs. I have the game original on ps2, but it is the eu version and the dupe glitch does not work there

You need to have the green orb and the axe subweapon and press O on controller. For the candles you need the jade mask which you can buy at the shop after you finished the game once

It's not cheating, it is a glitch where you can dupe items on specific spots in the castle. You most likely see other runners do this glitch too

It's a built-in game characteristic. Cheating would be hacking the game (external interference) or editing the video out to fake a run. You can call it a "bug", "unintended feature" or "exploitation", but it is as legitimate as any other built-in aspect of the game.

If anything, the only "cheating" would be the use of emulator, which is obviously faster with load times, saving the game etc. than an actual console. Everything else is completely legitimate as far as I can tell.

Yea I call cheating also. Knowledge and run impressive but the rest just a cheat on the auto refill items. Impressive play through but this doesn't count

As I said it is not cheating because on the NTSC version of the game you can refill your items when you stand on specific areas in the castle.
