We're back into the epic series that we all know and love: Castlevania!
This theme was a highly-requested gem that I'd get numerous shouts for during my Twitch streams to cover. I can definitely understand why. This theme just SCREAMS metal cover like many other awesome Castlevania themes.
I went into this arrangement wanting to be as groovy and funky as I possibly could to try and keep that bouncy feel of the theme. It can be challenging sometimes in metal to introduce the funkiness element since the genre usually focuses on other aspects of the rhythm much like speed and heaviness. But It was a ton of fun to basically say "NO, we're being funky today!" so It was a constant balance to make it as crushing as I could but keep that awesome groove.
The lead guitars were SO much fun to record on this one. Castlevania melodies are always so well-composed and they usually translate over to guitar like fitting a perfectly fitted puzzle piece.

That intro was *smooth.* That’s the kind of intro I try to mimic with all of my covers of Divine Bloodlines. It’s just really hard to pull off.

We never learn, but we have someday, and in the meantime, if you come back...someone like me will be waiting''.* -Richter to a dying Drac (Dracula X Chronicles). Although I like the majority of the members of the Belmont family, Richter stands for me as the best one. With a pure jovial and courageous spirit, he had also a marvelous sense of justice, the best of all the family, and I think you expressed it very well here in your cover.
Oh my God, I've been secretly hoping you'd cover this song eventually! Fantastic job as always - those first 15 seconds gave me chills. 💕
Easily one of the best tracks in the series. The 1st level themes are always so memorable!

castlevania in general has one of the best soundtracks in video game history
This song is just a time capsule of solid 70’s groove with a splash of 90s rock and roll and a backbone of oldschool classical opera music.

Technically rondo came first, so it deserves the credit people give it, but Dracula X's versions of the music are also good.

Dracula X doesn't deserve shit, it's aged badly, and Richter walks unreasonably slow. There's also a reason why it isn't canon. Rondo of Blood is arguably the best Classicvania

Both games carry the Dracula X branding in Japan (it's why the SNES title is called Dracula XX over there), so the title isn't wrong either way.
Being gothic to the core, Castlevania games' music lends itself so effing well to metal! This is also one of the best Castlevania songs. Epic, man, simply epic!
The Dracula X version is definitely the best one.

Holy cow this was so well done! My only complaint is that it’s only 3 minutes and I wish it was longer but good job nonetheless! Being a Castlevania fan and Richter being my favorite Belmont, this puts a smile on my face!
