Sometimes I think future civilizations will look at these buildings (if they survive) and wonder why we were unable to build as well and as beautiful a thousand years later. It will look like civilization began to fail around the 20th century. And there may not be any trace of digitize record.
I love castles
Alhambra, it was just a thing about it which makes me really curious, I hope to visit it as it looks marvellous
I love how Bran got it right with the plastered and whitewashed walls. We don't have many examples showing us what castle walls really looked like after construction and during their use. While not all castle walls were adorned in that manner, a lot were and of course the interiors were painted and tapestries were hung for decoration. Usually all we get to see are the battered remains and their rough stone walls, that don't show the lavishness in which the occupiers existed in.
finally someone getting Bran right, and Vlad Țepeș was also never there! And kudos for pronouncing Ceașescu ( not that he deserves his name pronounced correctly) and not Ciau-cesu!
Well done!
We need subtitles
No mention of Edinburgh Castle, really?

There's a lot of nice ones they missed. I'm surprised they didn't show killkenny castle myself.
The Tejo River in Lisbon is pronounced with a "J" sound (as Jamaica) not a G 😮sound!

Also, why is the thumbnail a relatively recent monument that's not part of a castle at all?
Interesting text.
Amazing what humans did before TV took up so much time.🤔
Ok, killkenny castle is way better looking, in my opinion than blarney castle in Ireland. And, you should have mentioned Heidelberg castle, instead of that wretched thing you shot lol. It's a descent documentary, bit more obscure castles would have been better. I'm sure, a lot of these places have three to four documentaries about them, or mentioned in for sure.
No closed captioning, unfortunately.
I wish the narrators of these historical videos would take the effort to learn how to pronounce the names correctly. Belem is pronounced Belae with a nasal "ae" (near as).
The music IS TERRIBLE.
need to read your script next time. The wall you show was built from roughly 1300 through 1600 Mongol invasion was1200s. Walls that have not been built stop nothing. That being said China had fortifications but nothing like what was shown. What was shown was built after the invasion not to stop one.
The audio quality of the narrator is quite bad, exacerbated by the unnecessary music overlay. Also, subtitles are not available, so I quickly left.

That's a shame. You missed out on a spectacular documentary of still-visited castles throughout the world. Maybe something was wrong with your browser settings; I had zero problems watching this - and it was awesome! Narrator and music? - also not a problem.
