In this video we are cast back to the times when the Coalmining was a huge part of Castlecomer and the surrounding communities. We share these moments through photos of coalmining tools used, the people who worked the mines, and also see into the lifestyles of the coal miners and Castlecomer. Newspaper articles and documentation from the mines help to build an understanding of the times, enjoyed by many, endured by others.

My grandad and his dad also worked in the mines ,Jim ryan and Michael ryan
They were hard working men god bless them all.
