Castle Sinclair Girnigoe Walk, Scottish Countryside 4K

All support is hugely appreciated and it helps me keep the channel going!
No talking, just walking. Exploring the Scottish Countryside. A nice gentle walk around Castle Sinclair Girnigoe, a historic and dramatic ruin located on the east coast of Caithness in the Scottish Highlands overlooking Sinclair Bay, providing views of the North Sea. The castle is believed to have been built in the late 14th or early 15th century by the Sinclair family, the Earls of Caithness. It served as the seat of the Sinclair clan for several centuries. The castle's history is marked by conflicts, sieges, and political intrigue, reflecting the turbulent history of the Scottish Highlands. It was a significant stronghold during the medieval period and into the early modern era. The castle fell into disrepair in the late 17th century after the Sinclairs were involved in several feuds and conflicts, including the Wars of the Three Kingdoms. It was eventually abandoned and left to decay.

About Dave's Walks
Hi there, I‘m Dave! I've lived in the English Countryside all my life, and I love it! I enjoy walking, and couldn’t help but notice just how beautiful the UK can be away from the cities. I found myself inspired and decided to get some camera equipment and make some walking videos so I can share my walks of the beautiful countryside with everyone!
I mainly focus on small towns, villages, picturesque landscapes, rolling hills and mountains, forests and canals, all along the coastlines in England, Scotland, Wales, and who knows maybe one day further afar!
I upload every 5 days 11am GMT (3am PST) (6am EST) (4.45pm IST) (8.45pm ACST)

I use the free version of Davinci Resolve 16 to do some really basic editing. Mainly making sure the sky isn't over exposed. It's from Camera straight to KZread. No cuts, no fancy business, no talking, just walking.

Yes as we don’t often get many of those here in the Scottish highlands!

So random this pops up when Iv just uploaded a video with Castle Sinclair Girnigoe! We are lucky enough to live not all that far. It’s a very special place that’s for sure. Great video
Again, Dave, you’re adding to my bucket list! This one was absolutely exquisite 🙌✨Thank you so much for bringing us all so much peace and beauty 🌸✨

It’s a special place for sure! I live not far from it
That is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. It’s as simple as that. What a thoroughly enjoyable walk - although I had to hold the edge of my seat while you ventured out on the promontories; as a lover of all things ocean, I was rapt for every one of the 42 minutes; now I know where it is I need to go - thank you so much Dave, that was simply wonderful.
Another awesome walk! Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful place 😊 love the sound of the sea ❤
OK, wow, you are brave, no argument! Great film, what a wild and beautiful area.
Thanks!

Another outstanding walk!
35:40 I'm always struck by how hardy our ancestors were. Not only did they seem to prefer to build in such exposed locations, yet hardly ever bothered with luxuries such as windows or roofs.
It is such a great view. Thanks for sharing this amazing walk. I really hope I can go there and see the real place in the future. :)

You definitely should if you can, it’s amazing there and here in the Highlands
Thank you for the lovely coastal walk. I would have been on the other side of that stone wall though. My balance is off and I know I probably would have gone flying off the cliff. I played bagpipes in me head while watching your silent movie along with a few gull calls. 😉😉
absolutely love these videos, watching every new one and also using some frames as reference for my silly watercolor sketches. thank you!
Beautiful scenery! Oh how mysterious that castle looks to me. I’d love to know the history.

Loved the way you showed every angle of the castle, wanted to go in there but it does look a bit dangerous ~

It used to be open to go inside but it has since been closed due to falling rocks. I am so pleased I went there when we first moved up to the Scottish Highlands and could get inside as it was open then. It’s amazing to see from inside, looking out as once those who lived there did! Pretty cool x
Amazing location. What a shame the walkway is closed
😎
Those paths all around with steep drops into a raging sea - all I could think of was my boys at their 10-11 ages 'having fun' here if we had ever visited this place when they were young - omg so dangerous ! I bet the local parents tell their kids to stay away from here, and I couldn't help wondering how many kids had fallen into the sea here ! Boys are so reckless !
