Castle Cake Tutorial (Fully Edible/No Polystyrene Turrets)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Hello and welcome! In this weeks video, I'm sharing how I created this castle cake. A lot of the castle cakes I see have several layers and many turrets which are just inedible. I like to make sure you can eat as much as possible from my creations and this scaled down one is perfect for smaller celebrations.
For the rice cereal treats -
45g Butter
300g Marshmallows
180g Rice cereal
1tsp Vanilla extract
Melt the butter in a pan on a medium heat and then add in your marshmallows and vanilla extract.
Make sure the marshmallows have completely melted and then remove from the heat.
Stir in the rice cereal and make sure it is fully coated. Scoop into a greased and lined 9'' pan and press down gently until flat.
This will be super sticky so make sure you grease your hands with butter or oil first and to use silicone spatulas!
Allow to cool and slice into 24 pieces.
I used half the mix for my turret and had some left over for nibbling on!

@LivingtheCakeLife, thanks so much for the video! Planning to make this for my daughter's 4th birthday. I have two questions: (1) How did you store the cake after it was made? (2) What decorating turn table should be used - what's the diameter and what type of base can hold the weight of the cake? Thanks again.

If you search for FMM straight frill cutter (set 3) it’s included in there. It’s a pack of 4 with some other designs and they do come quite in handy and cost me around £4 ish.

can you share the links to where you bought the molds?

The mats and molds I’ve actually had in my collection for the last 8 years 🙈 so unfortunately I wouldn’t have links for those but if you just type in - fondant pearl mold, fondant brick embosser and leather impression mat you should be able to find similar items and they really aren’t too expensive either, maybe around £3-£4 each 😊

I got mine free with a cake magazine I used to buy but you can get them in a pack by the brand FMM. It’s in the straight frill cutter set 3. You get 4 in a pack for around £5 and the one I use is in there.
