Step one, make a mold of a skull Step two, don't ask me where I got a skull

Ckasp Exactly my thought - the thumbnail made my think to Varnish a Styrofoam skull, then to spray paint it bronze, but where where could you get a styrofoam skull? Maybe carve one from a block of styrofoam with a rotary tool?

Step one capture a woman Step two sacrifice her to a demon Step three use her skull to be creative Step five you chose to craft bronze from it so you need to watch this video. Step six six six You make another one to drink beer from it and watch your favourite soccer team Step seven seven seven you get the jackpot Step eight you think their tears are delicious.

So much more of a craft than I'd ever have thought and each step needs to be done right. Really appreciate the effort involved!

Ian Lynch I really love Alec's dedication to taking his time and getting it right. It's refreshing to see a young person with such respect for his craft. You can see it in every video.

Erick Phillipps Wow, I just basically told him the same thing. A young person working with his hands and the dedication he has to his craft is amazing. To me he is a role model for his generation,
i love alec's curiosity and interest in learning new things
Honestly I love this video! Love seeing other shops. Hope you do more of that in the future every now and than.
Such a chill guy. He's the Bob Ross of forging! Brilliant. Keep finding these local craftsman.

Just gonna forge some happy little skulls today. Lol
This has to be one of thee best videos I've seen, the aesthetics are on another level with compliments to Jamie on the editing. How humble this guy is, is a joy to listen and watch. Can't wait to see what you guys get up to with this venture. Keep up the good work Alec!!

I agree.. I wish mine were that good 😂
This is the next level. Alec's growing rapidly. This is on par with something I'd watch on live television.
Such a master! And so relaxed. Loved this documentary style!

I'm always amazed how awesomly well-edited Alec's videos. And how he makes that much high quality content. My biggest respect for you Sir!
The man rides a motorcycle and makes weapons by hand. A true badass!
PLEASE continue doing collaborative videos. I love watching you working and learning from this man. He is a master of his craft. You draw the knowledge from him and make it entertaining and educational. The videography makes it even better.
Glad to have you to watch!! Thanks for everything!
I used to work in a bronze foundry and we did this exact thing (except with modern tools) it's super fun!
You in your forge is great to watch, this was a real treat! Thanks for taking us along! Thanks for having us Rod!!
Alec is the perfect person to pump the bellows for 45 minutes. The enthusiasm just flows through him into the furnace xD
Alec, although I love your modern shop, with the press and power hammer, you gotta love the old school style shop. Such nostalgia.
Wow the workshop looks more like a museum xx
Always FANTASTIC to be invited into a master craftsman's workshop to see and learn some thing new. Thanks for sharing Alec...and a master wouldn't have you do something he hasn't already done himself...keep on pumping.
If I were time traveling Rod is exactly what I would expect a blacksmith to look and sound like from the time. Absolute pleasure to see his technique! Thank you so much Alex for asking him to share it with us. I love working with brass and bronze and to see his methods were so amazing, it makes me miss being in the shop! Smashing job to you both! I wish I could give this more than just one like.
Pumping like a champ!! Glad to see you back from holiday Alec, hope you had a good time!
I've recently subscribed to your channel, having watched several of your other videos. Your videos are thoroughly enjoyable, and your craft is extremely interesting. Thanks for bringing soo much energy and enthusiasm into your work. It's truly amazing to watch. I can't wait for another one.
What a life you lead Alec, I wish I had been as on to it as you as a young man...

I'm 45 and still not 100% sure what 'passion' I want to follow, there are many choices lol. It would have been great to know when I was as young as Alec was.
How cool was that? Rod's workshop has an incredible look to it, my kind of place.

Nope! I've been there, still doing it, got the grubby teeshirt.
Rod has such a wonderful presence. This video is like ASMR for blacksmithing. Amazing video as always
I really like the style of this video...like an Alec Steele documentary series! Steele Series Workshop Tours ...where you go to the shops of other makers and watch/show/learn what they do!
9:20 ha! No problem for our Alec, oh noooooo! Our Alec can hand sand a damn sword for days on end, and you think 3/4 of an hour of pumping is gonna tire him out!? Bah!
Dare I say... Alec you lucky BLEEP! What an experience. 😎👍
Rod's workshop fires up my soul. I look forward to seeing what you will take from this experience and make your own, Alex.
It’s nice to see you trying different things and visiting others shops !! Nice change of scenery !! Keep up the good work Alec
Love the collaborations with other people. Learning techniques from different people is the best way to learn. meaning you can pick the best ways to do things and achieve different goals.

That was a special Treat, Thanks to both Rod for letting us into his shop, and Alec for talking us along!! that was great!
Just awesome video, shots of the skull in the fire and the finished thing epic, rod & his workshop-very cool 👍🏻
Wow Rod's voice ist so relaxing! What a great video! You were a great team! Love and support for you guys!!!👍
This is my new favorite channel on youtube. Whatever you are paying your cameraman, its not enough! AWESOME shots of AWESOME work in every single video! Keep up the amazing work Alec!!! Cheers!!!
Mr. Ron is a pretty cool guy and has some beautiful work and unique shop. Thanks for letting us in!
That's crazy. The amount of work that goes into everything that is involved with being a blacksmith, is absurd. But to finally see a finished product makes it worth every second. Thank Alec for taking us in your blacksmith journey.
Field trips are even more fun as a grown up than as a kid, that looks like SO much fun to try.
Thanks Rod!!! Great video!! It is amazing to watch someone that knows the materiel and has done many castings. It shows!! Appreciate the time....helping Alec out. You rock!!!
Loved the bronze casting. I love ancient materials and ancient methods of doing things. Good work alec.
At 12:40 Alec said we're gonna pour some more. I think he ment we're gonna pump some more.🤣🤣
Oh, goodness, at 9:30 the ladies start writing ALL THE JOKES! 😂😂
Anyone else becoming addicted to this for no reason? He just makes these so cinematic
alec, I just graduated high school. I had no idea what I wanted to do for a career until I came across your channel. you've caused me to discover a passion for metalworking I've never understood before. thank you
I only recently found your channel. I love it. Its really refreshing to me to see a younger person that enjoys getting your hands dirty. Learning new things. Making mistakes but also having great success at times. I'm 46 (yea I know I'm old lol) I am a,welder by trade but as I watch more of your content I'm really starting to think I want to start trying some basic blacksmithing myself. Thank you Alec for getting me excited about learning something new. Never to old to learn I guess. I watched one of the videos and you suggested to find somewhere to take classes. My problem is the nearest I could find is almost 5 hours from me. So I may have to just jump in in and give it a go. Sure I'll screw up a bunch at first but I don't care. The journey is the best part to me. Thanks again my friend.
Great show. Alex Steele going to other makers shops could be a whole channel of it's own.
His voice is so gentle. It makes me calm.
This was really cool. It would be awesome to see you travel around to different forges and do talks/demonstrations with their smiths.
One of the cooler castings I’ve seen & that shop would be a lot of fun to play in!
This is so cool this guy's amazing thanks for sharing
Thanks for the look at another Smith and his shop and skill set, awesome collaboration!
I find it funny that someone figured out that horse manure worked well as a binder when making a crucible. "I just wish we could get this clay to stick together well enough.." "Well horse manure would work pretty well.... its kinda my go - to."
My thing is that Alec is apart of a new age of smithers while this man is dedicated to the old techniques of smithing. Alec is just learning and it's a beautiful thing to see and watch.
Great work! Thanks for the invite to see the shop and the making of that skull
The lost wax technique, wonderful. many car parts are made in wax injection in steel mold and these wax parts will come the model for the casting of different metal parts.
Very cool indeed. Thanks for sharing, Alec
WOW!! Totally awesome craftsmanship there! Thank you Alec for sharing this with us.
what a nice calm and relaxed gentleman , i hope alec will learn from him not only casting but also from his caracter !
This would be an awesome idea for a handguard on a sabre.
So nice to see you being so humble, and enjoying this. And so nice to see him wearing that wolfs cross!
I can't like this enough! Such a lucky dude to have a life around this kind of style.
Alec! Been looking forward to an upload all day! 😃❤

Omg, wasn't expecting a like from you, I squealed so much my cat ran away from me 😂
Rod seems awesome, and really knowledgeable. Also the rock music towards the end of the video, with the fire and slow shots was awesome
WOW! The quality of this video is fantastic, looks like a super high budget tv show, but you guys have the funding of a KZread channel. Crazy stuff.
Love it when you change things up a bit. Well done Alec!
This is incredible two masters at work 👍 This is awesome craftsman from 500 or a 1000 years ago would not feel out of place in this workshop and techniques!
I worked for a modern investment casting company. I had the good fortune of working nearly all departments when QC was slow. This is a fantastic look at the same processes with source epoch methods employed.👍🏻🥇
Oh my gods. Loved the workshop and loved the skull. 😍

Izzabela Dellamone oh my gods love it
I absolutely am in love with this video. This guy too is something else entirely. You had me at historical "viking" recreation and traditions and the quality of the production and process shown.. Excellent work! Thank you for this awesome change of pace.
I have zero intentions on ever doing any of the things you do yet I watch every video atleast twice. Thanks for the great content Alec
I hope you start using it in your shop. I think it would be really interesting to do a pirate cutlass using these techniques.
That guys Forge is SO cool! I love historical stuff like that. Would be awesome if you could do a vid making a sword together using the old methods.
So beautiful and fascinating. I would love to study with Rod to learn more about traditional forging.
thus far your best episode! Rod Hughes is like the bob ross of casting! love his work shop has such a magical pirate days feel to it! once again man really enjoyed it thank you!
You are one of the most genuine KZread's I have ever seen
Heating the mould is a handy tip, not thought of doing that before, might have to give that a go. Great video!
If you are pondering your next blacksmith project, I have a suggestion. You could make Finnish style puukko knife(could also be some other knife). Nice damascus steel, and for that extra something, make it in San Mai structure. I have not yet seen any of your blades to have San Mai. In my humble opinion, it makes knives look extraordinary good. It is said also to be challenge for blacksmiths to do it, and we all know you like to challenge yourself!
Yes! Lost wax is the way to go for detailed casting. I was pulling my hair out when you were trying to make tiny things with your sand mold. LOL. A very good episode! The song at 12:43 is pretty awesome.
What a great video! Maybe you can take on building a stool like the one we saw in the video when you were pumping air? It would definetly be a cool add-on for your shop and it's also a nice project involving leather.
awesome video! cant wait to see molds being used in your future projects
I LOVE the music in these videos, great cinematography to accompany as well!
What kind of refractory material was that? It was incredible.

Yes sheep Slayer i have the same doubt about this. Please Someone can explain to us? Thank you very much
Fantastic episode and the green flames in this awesome historical workshop were really cool. You should do more castings, too Alec!
Awesome old skool crafting and shop.
my lord, the cinematics in these videos never fail to impress me
Wow. Great video, always a pleasure to watch a master of their craft.
Alec Steele you should put a body and skull on that forged statue that you build with the hammer and anvil!
Awesome vid. Even our old pro Alec learned a couple fundamentals that day. Killer triceps workout too. Interesting methods, and it's obvious Rod there is a pro at it.
Awesome project, awesome person to colab with, awesome video!!
I would love to see the sabre Rod was holding!!!!! Very much. Fantastic casting and result, love it! :-D thnx for sharing
6:22 Alec's thoughts: I have made a huge mistake 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Dude, you are extremely respectful and curious, you make an awesome apprentice
6:20 alec's face is priceless
Rad! When I watched the video of the forge-in and saw Rod’s incredible Damascus work I couldn’t wait to see a collab! Really hope you two continue to work together!
i am truly hoping that someday soon you will take on a traditional dual core katana build, it would be an absolute treat to see you tackle the many challenges that come with a traditional katana
Keeping up trends, I'd imagine Alec coming up with a Damascus mask in the not too distant future!
OUTSTANDING, love the historically accurate way he does it. MORE NEED MORE
That flaming skull in the furnace looked badass as hell
I love watching this kind of stuff. So much skill and effort goes into work like smithing and casting, it must take forever to master the craft. Bronze is such a beautiful metal too, I love the color, and the piece looked amazing at the end. New subscriber here, by the way. Recently found your channel and been loving the content. Keep up the great work!
