This does not do the show justice. It's an amazing production that needs to be seen live.

I saw this musical yesterday; it was so good! Very educational but upbeat, interactive and completely unique

Oh, the corruption is in the musical. Basically, we spend most of the musical watching her build her own mythology, but then the reality starts pounding on the door and the musical reveals what the Marcos got away with. The song "Pretty Face" is about putting up a facade of goodness.

It doesn't translate so well on TV. You should see it in the Broadway Theatre -- it absolutely slams! And the immersiveness is like nothing you've seen before on Broadway.

you are just wanting to dunk on the show for some reason and you've heard about this controversy. there is nothing awful about this track. and most times when any broadway show goes on gma or any of the morning shows they use pre-recorded tracks for those appearances because you can't take an entire orchestra to tv studio. this is common practice for broadway show appearances away from the theatre. this has happened with broadway shows for years. so that isn't really a valid comment in regards to this particular appearance. HERE LIES LOVE has always used pre-recorded tracks since the very first production over 10 years ago. it is part of the conceit of the show and how the show works. karaoke started in the Philippines, and it is part of why they went with this concept from the very beginning. so you are just criticizing this particular performance without merit or understanding. so-why are you excited to post a negative comment? I have to wonder. do you want the show to fail? why don't you want it to succeed? is the reason racial? political? a bit of both? just because you like to see things fail? what is behind you grabbing onto this idea so that you could leave a negative and misguided comment? have you seen the show? very curious.

@@mynameprivate7151 you still don't get it. the comment is misguided. you can hate the music, whatever, but it is misguided to think the fault is because the music is prerecorded. again, you just want to dunk on the piece for whatever reasons. and ok-congrats. you won. the show closed. several hundred people all lost their jobs. yay. you happy now? I am sure you have moved on. what are you trashing now? again. this is really sad. aim higher.

I LOVE theater and I do think it’s so very sad that this show was invested in so fully and failed. But, I have watched SO MANY Broadway shows, and enjoy them in their own way; liking most. Although I didn’t see this show live, so I’m sure I missed a lot of what it had to offer in that forum… I watched numerous clips out of curiosity and they were not good - to me. Don’t assume people are critical of thinks because they are happy being mean. I honestly have watched hundreds of shows. And this didn’t sound good. Sadly, others agreed.

Per news, show is now canceled due to low sales. Not surprised coz that’s a wife of a dictator. A thief. People knew better that to watch that show

you clearly didn't see the show with this type of comment. the show is extremely damning of the Marcos regime. they show the assassination of Ninoy Aquino. and the show ends with Marcos' being taken away via helicopter, then the citizens of the Philippines rebuilding their democracy. part of why the show closed is because of misinformation like your comment. Maria Ressa, a Filipino and American journalist who won the Nobel peace prize for her work in human rights in the Philippines came to the show and enthusiastically endorsed the show. she loved it. did you know this? clearly by your comment you didn't. when this show closed the first broadway show with an all filipino cast closed leaving all those people out of work. a lot of the technical and production staff were also filipino they all also lost their jobs when this show closed. easily around 400 people all lost their jobs when this show closed between the actors, the tech staff, the theatre staff, the production, the publicity, the folks who sell the show and on and on. a show employs a lot of people. so you are glad all those folks, a majority of them filipino Americans, all lost their jobs when this show closed. plus, this story, which is an important part of filipino history, and American history stopped being told. and you are happy about this? what you say isn't even correct about the show. and you are happy though that it closed? what I will say back to you using your words-"people should know better." do your research before you blindly damn something. or at least be correct in what you are damning. you should know better. sad.
