    I was only there twice but you could tell that there was a real sense of community there.

    A buddy are I removed the hydro lines from the poles in 1993, in case anyone was wondering how this story ended. Sad, pretty houses without people, with childless swing sets creaking in the wind. Sometimes it was like working in the Twilight Zone.

    Ironically the attempt to go underground is what caused the total end of the town. People could still have lived there to a smaller extent for tourism etc but because of the tunneling machine disaster it contaminated the area. Its too bad Cassiar would have been the perfect place for BC to try and make a foray into nuclear energy because of its isolation thats how I would have given it a new life

    There were people from all over the world who worked there I work with people from the middle east, Chinese. USA,Yugoslavia everybody seem to get along lots of first nation people work there from all over the yukon and British Columbia we all work together
