“Wasting All These Tears” changed my life when it came out ten years ago. It’s a song I’ll be performing for the rest of my career and one that’s managed to take on many new lives. In my move back to my pop punk roots, I wanted to take WATT with me. I thought who better to produce this with me than my old band mate, Alex Lipshaw, from Hey Monday? The process was cathartic and sentimental… we truly did have the best time making this new version. It feels like a true depiction of the angst and frustration in the lyrics… it feels like coming home.

Dont get me wrong, loved your country era, but I was a fan of Hey Monday before, and I thought "man, this song would be such a banger in a pop punk version", I'm so glad this exists!

I also loved Hey Monday! I remember watching Cassadee on the Voice and being so happy she won. Then when Frame by Frame came out it was a country album and it was so confusing. Even more so with this song. It so easily could have been a song that rivaled "My Happy Ending" by Avril Lavigne in kick ass breakup songs. I am so glad this version exists now. It really brings out the "Screw you, I deserve better than you" breakup energy.

Hell yes Cassadee! Please re-record all your country songs as punk, that would be dope!

Ya know, I've been around since Hey Monday and I still remember my mom's face when we watched The Voice together and I said "wait... that's Cassadee Pope!" She's like "WHO??" I was so confident in you picking Adam, I nearly fell over when you picked Blake. But I stuck around through the country stage too. I liked it. And I liked this song (although I sang it a bit more like this lol) It's nice to hear it from you though. It's as it should be. Good luck on what's next. I'll still be here as a fan!
