Only just discovered Cass, what an incredible woman! Watched a documentary about her, can’t believe the way she was treated by not only the media, but her own band mates who were suppose to be her friends! They were just jealous because Cass had the talent, and they didn’t. RIP Mama, your music will live on forever ❤

This style of music, ‘sunshine pop’ was the pinnacle of everything American in the 1960s, it’s just amazing and stays timeless ❤

I have said that she carried the Mama's and the Papas many times.

This absolutely kills me. She had such a beautiful soul and honesty. We lost her way too soon.

I love how she stares down the camera just before the end of the first verse (it hangs them up, to see someone like you) It seems she knew she was looking in the wrong camera but continued until she stared down the correct camera as if it were intentionally directed at someone who didn’t think she would make it alone. It also felt like she was sending a positive message to viewers as if to say “They said I couldn’t do it, and it pisses them off that I actually did it and YOU TOO can do whatever you want! Just be yourself.”

I was 10 years old when I fell in love with Cass's voice. Even my 40 year old parents enjoyed listening to her.

This is such a wonderful song, sung by the wonderful Mama Cass Elliot.

This may be "her own kind of music," but her kind is my kind, and so many millions and millions of others'. If nobody else is singing along, it's only because there's just about nobody else up at that level, remotely near her angel level. She's a taste of Heaven here on earth, only granted to us too briefly probably because Heaven was missing one of its sweetest voices and most beautiful hearts.

I think about her songs all the time! She was awesome and really was so unappreciated. I get emotional when I think about what she went through. 😢 her voice is unmatched.

@@dodeukiJohn Philips of The Mamas and the Papas taunted her brutally for her weight. Among others. She struggled to lose weight and went through dangerous weight loss ”cures”. And started to use heavy drugs. Her heart couldn’t cope with the drugs. She was a single mom.

Still one of my favorite artists, second only to the Carpenters. Cass and Karen Carpenter had voices that compared to no one else.
