Casio WK-210 Review and Demo

Ғылым және технология

Here is a demo of the Casio WK-210 Keyboard. This goes in-depth about the features and what it actually sounds like. I also show what it can do when hooked up to a mac using Garageband.

    In fact, this is what's known as an arranger rather than a workstation. That distinction is characterized chiefly by two attributes. It has only very limited ability to do any sound editing ( that's an inherent trait of a workstation ) And the arranger has the unique ability to do auto-accompaniment. The workstation as mentioned previously has the ability to do complex sound editing. It generally doesn't have any auto-accompaniment. So, the workstation is targeted at the keyboardist working in a band. Whereas, an arranger is for that keyboardist or other musician/producer/composer who needs a band-in-a-box. In many instances an actual workstation may often be pricier than an arranger. Many use the names interchangeably which belies their respective capabilities and application

    What I love about my WK-200 is that it has several great electric piano sounds including the tines emulations of a certain world renowned electric piano manufacturer. So, I can sound a little like Herbie Hancock on Butterfly or Stevie Wonder on As

    Nice review. Thanks for the information. I got one of these from Value Village for $39.99 in Everett, WA, USA with no accessories whatsoever. A pretty good deal I think. It's a great cheap keyboard! Not pro gear by any reckoning, but enough to practice and study and play with friends.

    @melrose1996 Great to hear you want to learn piano. Sustain petal is located on a real piano on the far right. It's holds any key that is pressed for a period of time. This is useful when you need to play slow passages or need to move your fingers in other areas of the piano.

    Thank u for this video. I have this keyboard and I was wondering how I could record it professionally, without softwares changing up the tones on this keyboard (which GarageBand does for instance) I've heard of audio interfaces too...are there any softwares out there which will record this piano well? Or any audio interfaces that you know of?

  • @BanjoleleMountaineer

    @BanjoleleMountaineer

    8 жыл бұрын

    +Mythili Karra You'd just need to hook up a cable from one of the audio out lines. There's probably an audio out 1/4" jack in the back, the size of cable used for electric guitars, but if not the headphoen jack will work just fine... into your microphone or line-in jack on your computer. But you did say professionally... so I would suggest getting an audio interface like you mentioned. There are many by M-Audio, such as the Firestudio (if your computer has a firewire port, many these days do not), or the Duo. Plenty by other companies as well. You'll only need one with 1 or 2 inputs I'm guessing, that only limits how many instruments you can record at one time... I"m guessing you're not going to be recording a whole band all at once, but doing "multi-tracking"... as in one instrument at a time. But if you are trying to be "professional", I have to say that this keyboard is pretty low-end and in no way has a professional or studio quality sound. So you would maybe be better off just using it as a MIDI controller.. basically what he showed you with the USB cord and Garageband. You can do that with any similar software though, whether you use Windows or Mac. And then find a high quality piano VST (virtual instrument)... even some of the free ones that come with more affordable recording software may be considerably better sounding than this keyboard. I'm a synthesizer guy myself, so I don't know much about piano VSTs or what to recommend. Hope that helps. Whichever way you do it, research how to use the program you'll be recording in to EQ your recording, apply effects tastefully (such as compression - big studio trick used almost always, but a subtle effect). Many of those techniques can help you get a more professional sound from your recordings.

    if your has midi inputs, then connect to an audio soundcard (midi compatible) and a special interface of "casio" should appear in your "prefrence" menu. You may use any of the synths programed in the keyboard but make sure you switched to "learned mode" from your keyboard to better access your "controls"

    Garageband doesn't cost anything....technically. If you buy a newer mac it comes with iLife. If not, you have to pay like $79 for the iLife suite. If you own a newer intel mac, you can use the app store on the mac and purchase a lcarte programs like garage band for $15. On my performances though, I am using a Jam Pack with Garageband. The sound you are hearing if from that, it's a realistic Steinway Grand Piano sound. Jam packs cost between $99-$200

    Wait!...not a workstation??? brah!...you can pan, vol, reverb, sustain, layed, split, chourse, transpose, multitrack record, rhythm edtior...and all kinds of shit which is all involved in "mixing" but because it doesn't have mixing feature stored within then its not qualified to be a workstation?? a "workstation" just specifies an area where selective features and perameters can be added, controled, changed or deleted but THAT'S IT!...(and no you CAN'T do this on most synthesizers under $150!) ...but just to be clear theres nothing highend about the term "workstation" and YES this keyboard is of most definitely a workstation sir ☝😉

    Like every other American one, this video is talk, talk, talk. The talk is not that relevant either eg. about the aluminium support bar. You have to wait till 10:00 to actually hear the synthesiser, and then he only plays for a 10 seconds before launching back into more talk.

    Omg 0_o yap yap yap yap yap. I quit watching at around 5:40 or so. Not sure if he ever actually “demos and reviews” the keyboard, lost me after the rambling of sustain pedal and then went from that to the stand, I couldn’t (stand) to hear anymore rambling after the sustain pedal but I’m sure you went on and on and on after that as well!!! Cmon man, focus on what the title says!!! If the title would of said “ramblings of a you tuber reading from the Casio wk-210 manual about things most people care less about, on to sustain pedals, on to keyboard stand, and possibly shows, plays, and reviews keyboard” I probably would of passed it on up and not wasted any of my life watching it and then having to post a comment.
