Picked this over the f91w. No regrets and been wearing it for 3 months already.

Really appreciate your in-depth reviews of these budget Casio watches! I'm hoping to see more "torture" tests on these watches. I personally prefer the "gshock lookalike" W218H and W219H. Both used the same module as the F108, which is highly legible. But my favourite feature of these two watches is that they both have a rugged case and are both 50m water-resistant, ensuring their long-term durability.

Thank you for sharing. I've a couple ideas on some torture testing of a G-Shock. I agree 100%....G-Shocks are great in their own right. Most Casios will hit the mark for the non military/LEO/Contractor, etc.

I love this watch. I used to be snobby about bout wearing a resin and/ or digital watch. This watch is soooo comfortable and I look the slim matt black stealthy look. For my work I only need the stopwatch. I use it daily.

We can view resin and digital as improvements. Resin allows for tough and light weight construction and digital has advantages in terms of complications as well as zero moving parts. Depends how you view things.

Solid, reliable and a better size for us bigger wrist guys but I agree with you on the strap. I think the F91 is nostalgic for people like me that grew up in the late 80's and early 90's and so they will never get rid of them as they sell millions of them a years. The W217 is a far better value preposition and the display and light puts this on a higher level of functionality! 50m of water resistance is good enough for most people f they are honest. I love the Greyman and it really is a great watch for most situations. I would rank the F91 at the bottom, then the w217h and then the Greyman! Have a fantastic week Tim! 👌👌

Love the W217, if the tag end of the strap sticks out from under the keeper, and annoys you on your wrist, dip the tag end in boiling water and bend it while hot - about 3/4 of an inch or so from the end. Bend it fully so it follows the contour of your wrist. Sits better, and the keeper stays in place.

The W217 really nails this price. I'm curious to see what you come up with regarding the F108. Hope you're doing well!

I love the F-91w but since I got this W217 I wear it pretty much all the time. Going to the gym with it timing my rest time, sleeping with it because of the great backlight and the loudest alarm on a digital watch I’ve had. It has the classic f-91 style but a little more manly I think, aaand mine is running +2 seconds a month. Insane watch and I love it

I love the large display on the217 watch. I was so disappointed when I got my Casio 5600E I had no idea the display was so small, guess I made the mistake of assuming - lol

I'm with you on that smaller display. I have a 5610u...same size numbers...and I'm not a fan of the number size. Prefer the W217 over 5610u....but that's where it abruptly ends.

I don’t think Casio sells a bad watch. Some are better of course. I am slowly starting to get back into Casio’s and my first recent purchase was an A-168. It’s a slippery slope. They’re so cheap I want to buy like 5 at a time, and that will get out of hand very quickly. Thanks!

The A-168 is a great place to start. There are many similar Casios tempering my 'slide.' I found that looking at dozens of Casio at one time proved to me the actual number of Casios interesting to me was much smaller. Best of luck with your Casio virus!!

I think this might be one of the few Casios that I don’t like (that much, that is). And I think it’s something about the proportions of the digits that makes me shy away from it. They are kind of elongated and, in a way they look odd to me. Nonetheless it’s always a Casio so the element of coolness is always there! Thanks for this review!

I see what you’re saying about the elongated numbers.

Ive said for YEARS they need to make the straps LONGER - over the years me and others ive known could not use these watches because the strap is too damn short - I managed to fit a NATO band to a couple with adapters, but the dang adapter cost as much as the watch - you can sometimes do it without an adapter but you need a really thin NATO band such as from NATO international etc.

Great comment...it's odd to me that they make watches adults wear regularly with such short straps. To be fair the short strap on the F91 is on the buckle end not the holes side. The holes side is actually the same length when the F91 holes are compared to any other standard Casio strap. On the F91 there's a little less strap after the last whole..which is functionally inconsequential (except that makes wearing the F91 watch on the last hole impossible to tuck in the tag end into the keeper). Functionally, the short strap is on the buckle side which makes the buckle tend to position on the outside of the wrist on avg/larger wrists rather than under the wrist with the same avg/larger wrist. I Have the F108 in a NATO strap , its a good watch but i like w217 more.i Have the negative screen one , i will change with a positive one..its better in my eyes.

Mmmmm not for me, I think making it bigger is a downgrade. The F91W is so tiny! It feels like you are just wearing a strap whilst still being easy to read. The light is indeed a huge upgrade! It's just the bigger case that doesn't do it for me sadly.
