The screws on the bezel fell out of my GW 7900B so I replaced them with real phillips flat head screws and it makes the watch look more heavy duty and eliminated the snagging caused by the fake screws that originally come in the watch. If you do this make sure the screws are very short, otherwise they will push the bezel up causing a gap between the bezel and LCD.

@M_VERICK *I used to own this watch, now after discovering the gw9400 rangeman a couple years back I no longer own the 7900 but instead 2 custom gw9400 rangeman watches with carbon fiber bands. The rangeman is a much better watch.*

I was looking for a watch for everyday use, but specifically what spurred my interest in researching the world of digital watches, was because I wanted/needed something for when I rode my motorcycle. I ordered the GW7900B after consuming a ton of info on a bunch of casio models. It’s a great watch. I’ve used it for the tide chart to check for low tide to go look for sea glass down by the local beach head , and more recently I got caught in the rain on my bike and it can take being pelted and drenched with rain water going 40-60mph on the bike. Not to mention it was night time when this happened, and just a lift of the wrist I could see the whole watch face perfectly mid ride. Super happy. Thanks for this detailed review and feature run down. I didn’t know this and the other models were in movies and on Eminem’s wrist. Super cool. I live in the north east US and do not have any issues with the atomic syncing. Every night I keep it face down (upside down) by my window. It usually syncs up for the day a little after 12am.

I just bought this watch to replace my previous G-Shock that was passed repair. Personally I have no use for the moon and tide functions and would prefer the day displayed before the month but these are my only thoughts. I work in the aviation industry where I'm constantly keeping track of the time. I bought this watch for the following features: 1) The watch is tough and can take a battering. I stopped wearing watches as they normally only lasted a few months before the strap broke or fell off. My 1st G-Shock was the first watch to last years. 2) Accurate time keeping. Seeing as the phone sets itself via radio signal each night I know its accurate to the second. More than good enough for what I need. Not having to manually set the time is a boon! 3) Solar panel and rechargeable battery; no need to worry about battery dying. I work early and late shifts and use the light on my watch constantly: holding a folder in my left hand and being able to just rotate my arm to see the time in the dark is a brilliant feature as otherwise I'd have to put my folder down to press a button to get the light on. When I forget my watch at work I feel lost. It's then when i fully appreciate how useful a tool it is for me. Forgot to say that this watch is incredibly comfortable to wear: soft is a word that pops into my mind. Much more comfortable than my last G-Shock.

Great tutorial!! I wanted the GW-7900 and bought it after I watched your video. The watch is dead on accurate. When I compare it to my Citizen AT4008-51E, both watches are exact! I suggest to anybody who wants GW-7900 to keep this video available, it is a lot better than using the tiny type instruction book provided with the watch. -You can also download the instructions from Casio. It is easier to read on a tablet.

Firstly: I can't thank you enough for all the work that you put into this. I'd imagine that you have a sense of how helpful it is. Now... This watch is so well thought out in its design. I don't really know exactly why I'm so attracted to it but I bought it. I could've gotten the PRW-3500T-7CR Or the GG-1000 Or the GG-B100-1A3 I don't know... This one is just calling me. Plus... I can always dive back in and pull something else out of the water... Especially since I only paid $87.88 for this one. IMO It may be the best valued G-Shock. The nickname for the GW7900- "B" Is the Night Vision. Guess "Day Vision" works for this one....? Thanks again.

Hi,.. thanks for the great explanation. but I have a question. If I travel from Hamburg to New York, is there an easy way to swap the home time with the world time set on the display? Greetings from Germany

Hi! I've a question. Is there a Casio watch, non necessary a g shock, with the direct button for stopwatch? (Other than the rangeman) thanks !

I have the red rescue man G7900-A that I bought in 2014 and the only thing that I had to do was change the battery with Duracell battery instead the factory version that it came with and it great. I have the Rangeman GW-9400 which is my first solar powered watch my only gripe is that the 9400 is bigger and less comfortable than the 7900 but the Rangeman is still an excellent watch and I am glad that I bought it. G-Shock because of their durability is an excellent choice.

Thanks for the review, I've had mine a few years and just had to change the strap, so far the only failure. I had a look at the back though to see when it was made but the extra coding for the factory and manufacturing date is missing of mine is that something I'd not get in Europe? (UK)

*_And thank you sir for also seeing the minor flaw that this & other Casios have. Particularly in the Stopwatch & Countdown Timer. I hate toggling back to the home screen to have to see the time. In my Riseman GW-9200-1, W-S220, & GW-300-2608 (my 1st Tough Solar Wave Ceptor/ Atomic piece) the time is displayed in these modes. The Riseman (my fav 💕) shows the time even in WT mode. That’s 1 integral refinement that needs to be done in said modes, in ALL models of Casios, IMO._*

Hi I’ve enjoyed your videos very much thanks. I’ve followed your tutorial on the 7900 but it doesn’t seem to sinc properly and I can’t find out what’s wrong. I have watched the video several times but still won’t catch the radio signal. Any advice please.

If you're in the coverage area you can try hanging the watch around something metal like a bike frame or something. And make sure that if you're putting it by a window at night to catch a signal that the window doesn't have a screen on it. And if you live outside the coverage area there are apps that emulate the radio signals on the play store or the apple store.

watch geek- what is your favorite solar multiband watch from gshock? i know that for the battery one you like the g7800. I've considered the g8900 due to looks. I also like the gw9400. and the ga800. just wondering which is yours.
