Why are shareholders getting anything? The water companies signed a deal years ago saying they would maintain network to modern standard they haven’t so in reality zero profit or there should be none because it’s ear marked for maintenance and updating. Basically they reneged on their initial deal with government

Really? That the extent of the public information? NOT GOOD ENOUGH! SEND EMERGENCY SUPPORT NOW ! Health professionals to answer calls from the concerned, provide access to GP and a&E services, weekend cover with ambulances and to access to information and assistance without delay when needed. Provide checks on elderly and vulnerable, provide support in schools and in clinics and hospitals. AND get the health emergency sorted without delay. Make suppliers and all responsible accountable. There should be questions, consequences and an invoice!

Maybe. This parasite can spread person to person and not just from drinking crap riddled water. Flooding has been crazy, rivers bursting banks all over the place. This was a ticking time bomb and the government would have known it but didn't bother to warn anyone. Welcome to 2024.

Makes one appreciate our normal supply of water in the UK. some people live with this quality of water daily plus walking miles to get enough for the day. Usually very fortunate, switch a switch and electricity flows, turn a tap and we have water. Our normal supply in UK is not what it should be. We are taking all the worst of third world countries and USA and now our Water Supply is increasingly not satisfactory. Decades ago it was ok but it isn’t anymore.

@@lisadefries6718 decades ago we had Cryptosporidium outbreaks more often. The 1995 outbreak in the same area affected far more people before it was found, so that would seem to indicate processes have improved somewhat, the boil order was issued faster this time.
