Quakes be a comin!😳

Does the increasing tremor activity in the Cascadia region amoun to a warning of a quake coming soon? Can that conclusion be made or is there still too much uncertainty to say anything definitive? I live on Vancouver Island and when the quake hits, most of the towns on the east side will fall into all the mines under them and be filled with sea water.

I've been watching these ETS events for years. There's no telling. This latest ETS event has slightly been different than past events. Usually they stay localized to an area during a event, I don't believe I have ever seen an ETS event like this one where nearly the entire section from North to South is active at once. For the past 5ish years ETS events started taking breaks during events. The Last ETS event started Dec 30th 22 lasted a few weeks stopped mid month Jan 23 started back up for the month of April 23 stopped and started again Mid July to Aug 1 23. That's very uncommon. This current ETS has been very rare. When I say ETS I'm referencing Episodic Tremor and Slip the scientific term for these events.

@@suedaniel147 Perhaps. There is an irony here. The Provincial Government has put a lot of money into seismic upgrades but the problem is every town here was a coal town and they are all under-mined so when the quake shakes all these strong buildings are going to fall into the mines perfectly intact and be covered by the sea water rushing in. I a major quake hits, in BC, things will be disrupted as far east as Revelstoke, BC. Cheers!

There could be, but tremor data is pretty new i think, we only started getting tremor data for cascadia since 2009

There is, I was looking for that information a few years ago. Everything I could find was all in Japanese. Scientists knew something was going on prior to the big release of the EQ.

Fasten ur seat belts. An earthquake is described in energy release. Will you sum the swarms of tremors over a month or say the avg daily is equal to 1quake of 4.9.

Doesn't work like that. If you walk 5 miles you don't add the 2 inches your foot lifted per step and say you have a 500ft vertical jump

Increase in energy release, its a static universe, presumably contain data that indicates subsiding or leading up to bigger quakes. Will it last 25 years or 5 years. Oregon is broken crust so is n Cali shatteringthe st Maria plate jutting up from Bagdad az
