MacOS support finally here woo!

I'm currently working on a project, and Video Mocap will be a lifesaver. Man, I freakin love this program. Now we need a Video Mocap tutorial (I tried to import a video reference but only the first frame is detected. The animation doesn't transfer.) EDITED: I found out how video mocap works. Follow the instructions on their documentation, but if you don't select the empty frames on the animation timeline before hitting the "mocap" button, it won't work and bumps into a Python crash. So, the process is: Add>Plane>Bind Texture > Add your texture (it's a batch of images you have to extract from your video. You can use free programs like Davinci Resolve or even video editor in Blender) > Select MeshObject > Select empty frames on Animation Timeline > hit "Mocap".

i can’t count on both hands the number of times I neglected fingers on my current project because it was so time consuming to finesse them. I’ll reopen some scenes and give those digits more animated expression. I would still like more video tutorials to supplement the documentation but I don’t want to focus on the have nots. Great feature update all around!

Best animation software to date.

this is the most difficult way to animate I have ever tried. Please more concise and simple tutorials

Autodesk 3dsMax team should see this and get inspired.

Great.but the main feature your app missing is constrains section which is not practical now

video mocap is cool.

even if that video to mocap feature isn't 100% effective, the fact that it's included right there in cascadeur means I can drop ipisoft, I can blockout animations so fast from this

as a former MoBu user, now you have my attention.

Me too. I migrated from MoBu to Cascadeur for most things. No regrets :)

Video Mocap is pretty neat, but it would be useful with two or more cameras in sync...

I did some test on video mocap in other place maybe year ago and the result was not great, can’t wait to try the cascadeur version

I would love for there to be some documentation on the fulcrum motion cleaning feature. For now it seems only mildly useful/capable for motion capture cleanup. Ideally it would be able to pair intelligently with autopose to also plant feet on the ground, which it what I would have expected cascadeur to excel at but alas, the workflow just isnt there yet

Yeah this will be the industry standard and I agree with the other comments, don't sell this to Autodesk or adobe... resist the temptation and hold out.... it will be worth it in the long run.

Wait is the video mocap feature in this new version?

Does this mean there is a video capture to animated character to dynamic movement process now?

Video mocap is the future if you can get it so the developer can stop, quickly film a motion, covert it to fbx and import it into Unreal. Also needed is a way to convert a Mixamo character to a UE5 skeleton. Retargeting is PAINFUL.

Does it work better with the epic games skeleton, or does it still have issues?

2 questions, how long can animations be now? and video mocap implies using any video? or you still need a suit

Animations have no limit as far as I know. There is only a limitation in the free version of 300 frames. And about the mocap is VIDEO mocap, it extracts, as the name says, from the video.

Ai mocap trace finger movements of reference video?

can people contribute software to this I was thinking of an IK inertia simulation feature. where the mannequin will automatically adust to compensate forced displacement. like if a box is hurled at it and it tries to prevent falling over as much as it can.

Is that video to movement??? Or was that a live mocap session?

That thing is at least a year old now (janky/wonky mocap from just one video). The implementation here is pretty powerful though, gives you a great base to work from. But yeah, if you know a bit of github, this has been around for (what now seems) ages! :) Glad to see it in Casc though!

Does mocap support on free version ?

You probably have a Mac with an intel chip. macOS version of Cascadeur only supports AppleSilicon Macs

As an 3D Animator I would love to see this as an Plugin implemented in Blender or Unreal Engine, but mostly Blender. I would even pay 200 Dollars, or a monthly subscription

Ребят, пожалуйста! Сделайте просто offset графиков кривых (для loop анимаций) и я прокляну и забуду Майку навсегда!!! хд))))))))

Было бы прикольно, если бы вы научили снимать движения с Кинекта. Я лицевую анимацию снимаю иногда кинектом, очень удобно и точно.

mocap is full with bugs....I prefer omniverse pose estimation for now !

Not bugs, just a bunch of precision errors. Not the same thing.

If you paid someone to make the music, he only used one of the free songs that come with FL studio.
