Cascade control is a control method that uses two or more controllers to control a single process. It is used when a variable that significantly impacts the primary controlled variable has a dynamic response that is much faster than the primary control loop. In cascade control, a secondary control loop, or "cascade loop," is used to control the fast-acting variable while the primary control loop continues to control the overall process. This allows for more precise control of the process and can improve overall performance. Cascade control is often used in industrial processes such as temperature control, pressure control and flow control.
