I love how he isn't just demonstrating, he's teaching. It's almost like this is a class instead of just a demonstration

incorrect. look at sensei's left hand and how it connects. you'll see the grip is the same there. many of the older styles like katori shinto ryu and komagawa kaishin ryu use a grip similar to what williams sensei uses. the reason is because the cutting mechanic is different so the way they connect to their weapon is slightly different.

I talk to the guy somewhat regularly. He puts emphasis on gripping with the pinkie and ring finger. the major difference is that rather than extending to swing as you would in kendo or seitei iaido, he rotates his rear hip back, giving the sword space to move. the cutting mechanic is different so hit connection has to be different. you'll also notice he locks his right arm as one would when firing a pistol. this is so he is present behind his sword like a support pillar anchored into the ground.

Mr.Williams is a humble warrior and a great man.I have a piece of the thickest (7roll??) tatami mat he cut at the last part!I got to talk2him and hold a couple swords he used there.I was honored.I own the Hisshou designed by him from CRKT.and @Mrottmandus-it is meant for katana swords sir,@CptnFeltcher-He trains spec-ops in H2H and small-arm combat,so yeah I want him on my side2!

Hollywood is not all fantasy. When Indi gets challenged by an Arabic swordsman, he pulls out his pistol and shoots him dead. This is reality of combat in the modern world. Swords are wonderful, but irrelevant in combat.

Sousuke Aizen Dear sir, I was reffering to a scene in the movie "Raiders of the lost ark". Are you not familliar with it? The worlds best swordsman might find himself at something of a disadvantage if he were to come up against someone carrying, lets say, a SCAR-H? Are you not aware of the existence of firearms?
