your days are numbered.......
I traveled from England to Athens to see magnificent Greek marble statues and find out that I could have seen them at home… in fact I’ve probably already seen them at the British Museum but out of context they are not that interesting. They deserve to be at home. We can have replicas.

From the bottom of our heart you can take all the football world cups and say 'it's coming home' .. we just want back what belongs to our home and was taken from us.. we just want our 6th daughter back home.. Caryatis will always be Hellenic

The third Englishman! The discovered Caryatid at Amphipolis excavation, remind us the abducted Caryatid from Acropolis, victim of antiquities trafficking, by Englishman Lord Elgin. Lord Elgin abducted the Caryatid by paying the antiquity traffickers when Greece was under captivity and occupation. In comparison another Englishman Lord Byron, he gave everything selflessly for the Greek independence from the conquerors. The one Englishman was and he will be forever a Hero, because of his efforts towards the Greek independence! The other Englishman was and he will be forever, exploiter as a modern Ephialtes (nightmare) using the Greek captivity for his shortsighted benefit. Now another Englishman of our time he needs to decide. To keep the abducted Caryatid in British soil because of shortsighted benefit, according to the Ephialtes Lord Elgin or release and free the Caryatid to meet her people according to the Hero Lord Byron? Fully supportive of the Greeks' rightful claim for the kidnapped Kariatyd to be returned!!!! Surprising that in perpetrators don't seem to be ashamed of their deed and proudly exhibit the stolen monument in the British Museum...
エレクティオン神殿の南面に見える六体の柱像をカリアティードと呼ぶ。昔、古代ギリシャの本を見ていたとき、朝焼けに半身が染まるこの群像の写真を見て、ひどく感動したことを覚えている。それは何か侵し難い聖なるものに面したような、ふしぎな感覚だったのを記憶している。 カリアティードは、対になった女神たちが同時に足を腿から上げ、まさに歩き始めようとする瞬間の姿を捉えたもののように見える。梁の替りをする六本の石柱が優美そのものであり、その造形の妙に驚きを覚える。最も細い首の部分に最大の重量がかかるように設計されているようだ。顔の大きさと背面の傾け具合のバランス、身体のねじり方など本当にため息が出る。その彫像された美のイデアは、二千年を超えた今日も人のこころを打つ。形相は永遠である。巷間、この六体の群像は乙女像だとか少女像だとかと云われる。或いは作者の制作の意図は、そうなのかも知れない。が、私には初めて接したあの輝くような神々しい姿を想い出すとき、この立像はやはり女神と呼ぶのが相応しいように思われる。UPに感謝。

Οταν κατέστρεφαν τα παντα οι βυζαντινοι παπαδες και μετετρεπαν τα αρχαια σε χριστιανικα δε σε πιανουν κλαματα ??? Ο ελγιν σε πειραξε ... ολη η ελλαδα ειν ενα ερειπιο απ το χριστιανικο μισος μεχρι το αγαλμα της αθηνάς εσπασε κοματια ο ιουστινιανος...
Hope these statues will be reunited in the near future. It's just a shame that England will not give it back. It's a really import part of Greece history, not that of England. Really don't see the point to keep it in an English museum...

πολύ καλό αλλά νομίζω ότι πρέπει να αναφέρουμε την λέξη γλυπτά-sculptures και όχι "μάρμαρα" - marbles.
