It’s nice but I’d rather still use the Jbx mod. Steering feels way better. Only thing you miss is no Ackerman settings. But the amount of tuning you can do to the jbx steering is insane. & it goes into the base 200bx as well. Just gotta find a 200bx legacy mod tho. All the old files are still in the game.

​@@zwenkwiel816i mean this case is different on a personal level. LBWK, Streethunter, and all the automotive manufacturers have models of their cars on different games. So not only are they established companies, people can use the video game assets (if not rip them off entirely) as reference. What makes this case more personal is that carx used a design from an individual that made the model / kit for personal use or art. It's also different from someone like kyzyl saleem, since KS cars exist on NFS

at least they should always do GTA things to their cars GTA really don't replicate 1:1 their model they are either too big or small in size and have some additional parts to make it look different enough. Seems carx devs are too lazy doing that right now.

I think we all already kinda knew the CarX developers were shady when they promised things for years and never followed up to chase money instead.

I think they just searching for new bodykits from other creators for new cars, and just to replicate them takes this long for them. 😂

It would be so cool to get on good terms with Cyro since he could provide more bodykits, LITERALLY EVERYONE WOULD BENEFIT: CarX for basically free bodykits, Cyro for recognition, and US the players getting more customization. Win win situation

The models ins carx are not 1/1 replicas of real cars, so there's a lot more work involved into making something work with their car models, aka more work, and all that labor doesn't pay itself with recognition lol

Carx really went you either die a hero or live long enough to become a villain… or maybe they were villains all along

This kind of stuff on top of them dropping all of their mobiles games on Switch tells me they are too far gone to understand that they are killing their chances at making a AAA type game and want to keep pushing out shovelware for everything including a toaster.

If people are really bothered about credits or licensing, then why are you guys not angry about CarX "stealing" the LBWK kit and many other big name bodykit, or further, putting cars in the game without contacting and receiving permission from its manufacturer, the double standard here is real.

yeah ngl i kinda agree. like at what point do you draw the line where the maker of a kit is "big enough" that we're collectively okay with it being copied without permission? we all want to see basically real cars and kits in our games, and we would probably get mad if a manufacturer sued someone because of having an unlicensed copy of it. ideally yes they would give him credit, especially now knowing that he's fine with it being in the game as long as he is credited and isn't asking for some exorbitant amount of money, but i don't totally blame carx for just following the same procedure they would for any larger company.

Free publicity gone. It's a video game dude if your body gets so good you're going to get way more money from that then some drifting game...

I suggest that Cyro get a lawyer to read over the contract before signing ANYTHING as they could have hidden ways to rip him off. Keeping in mind I have no true knowledge of the law, just what I can put together from what I see and hear, however, this is probably the best thing for him to do.

i feel like this is more of a “Sorry we got caught” situation more then CarX actually regretting plagiarising Cyros work because if Cyro never contacted them then CarX would of done nothing

They were gonna try shaft him, When he replied saying only the F40 bodykit is included in said contract, they ceased contact to look for another avenue to try continuing using his assets.

Carx 2.21 is now out but Geometry Dash 2.21 isn't 💀

"Stealing" would be taking that EXACT model from artstation and putting it in the game, but that's not what they did. They COPIED it, and created this copy themselves. Same as literally everything else in the game.

If Ferrari themselves see these Ferrari-like models in the game, won’t they actually sue the devs? As far as I know, Ferrari is one of the most strict companies when it comes to copyright laws. Even with the F40 in the game having a different name or no license, there still might be a chance considering there was a case years back when the Pixel car racing devs had to take off their porsche models (despite having no name and no license) because of some legal action from porsche.

It an Intimidation tactic that these car companies do when it come to these type of copyright law. They are betting on you not challenging their BS claims because they know how resource heavy it is to fight this in court. So it understandable why the dev on Pixel car racing comply. Whereas them trying this against Rockstar and completely losing all there bogus claims due to rockstar having endless resources.

As a 3D artist, this situation deeply saddens me. I invest considerable time working for free to build contacts, develop my portfolio, and establish a reputation within the industry. Despite being early in my career, I’ve already noticed that many people are reluctant to pay fair value for work, often unaware of the effort involved. It’s demotivating to see that even when I produce high-quality work comparable to artists like Cyro, larger studios engage in practices like stealing.

this is totally legal. they wont get in trouble for this. EVERY car that is based off of a real life car is made the exact same way. they dont have permission for use of the cars, what makes you think these bodykit creators have enough money to do something about this when Toyota cant even touch them?

oof creating that contract is a legal mine field. I doubt he asked ferrari for permission, meaning he probably doesn't have permission to profit from the work. There'd probably have to get approval from ferrari first, then pay for work done.... but ferrari is notorious for not being an easy company to deal with

Cyro seems like a nice individual because if I were in his position, my initial email wouldn't focus on demanding compensation but rather on initiating legal action

That's crazy. As a 2d & 3d artist, I can see the frustration. I can also see the reason why Cyro decided not to take it out of the game, but even still, I would've straight up sued them. It is never nice to see something you spent hours visualising and creating put in a medium so carelessly without permission. And the fact that they likely could've stolen more is just... makes me wanna quit the game honestly.

if it's not directly his model they got from him, not under a licence or a registered brand of any sort but just based on his render shot, legally speaking Cyro doesn't own anything copied by car x, although yes that suck, if it was an availlable model under a licence it would be a totally different issue

And what exactly is crazy about this? It's the same with the cars themselves, CarX doesn't have license for the cars (for the brand) but they can still put them in the game without the correct names and badges and everybody is okay with that, but when it comes to bodykits (and pretty much anything from small time creators), everybody is yelling HEY THATS STEALING YOU SCUMBAGS. Make up your mind and don't be hypocrites. Same rules & laws apply to everybody. And just to clarify, I do 2d & 3d art as a hobby too, even made few car bodykits. It's just they way it is. Sure, they could have took just inspiration and made their kit based on this one, but they chose not to and it is perfectly legal... EDIT: If they downloaded his 3D model and used that, then sure, that would be stealing, but they recreated it themselves. They still had to do the work.

@@krupy100 I get what you're saying, everything they do aligns with the laws, particularly copyright laws, put in place. But they do it in the scummiest way. Yeah, they may steal for example the Nissan GTR. But that brand and make is already popular enough for us to know what it is and where it is from, so if they slap a different name and brand on it, people, like me, would be less likely to complain. But, and I hate to say it, these body kit artists aren't popular enough to the point that everyone can immediately recognise where it's from. That's mostly why I dislike this. And with the fact that they could have copied more, I wouldn't want to play a game that I first thought most of, if not, some of the ideas were thought up by that company themselves just to find out later that it was someone else's idea and that they didn't get any form of consent or recognition.

This is cringe and BS. CarX did nothing that "IS NOT LEGAL!", one of their artists just used Cyro's work as reference and/or blueprint. (work that wasn't copyrighted or anything as far as i'm aware). And it's not even a 1:1 copy, there is a lot of differences. it's a bit sad for Cyro that CarX did not acknowledge his work, but thats it, there is nothing more to it. They did not "Steal game assets", the original work isn't even game assets in the first place, and they didn't stole anything.

i hope CarX adds the ability in future games to allow us to sculpt bodykits ourselves, similar to how older NFS games like Pro Street, Carbon, etc. This could allow us so much more variety to in game kits and allow us to make them even more unique, than just mixing parts from different bodykits.

The thing is: Bigger companies doesn't have the time to go after a game like CarX, so they don't even know that their kits ar being used. And even if they know, they just don't have time for that matter. But stealing from an independent artist, is something else. It's foul play, and I have the right to do "a fuzz" about it.

After watching the whole video. I really respect the creator of the kits and all his explanation make sense that even IF he sues CarX he would definitely won. Though I really wish someone who got their bodykit stolen would just SUEs CarX

Yooo I got here early, anyways just finished the video here's my thoughts. I think that carx really should try to reach out to people because not only will it not result in them stealing people's designs that they spent days if not months working on but, talk to the people and get the car kits into the game legally that would bring more positivity towards carx so they don't look like they steal peoples kits but bring recognition to the creators and make everyone happy.

I mean almost every single car in the game is literally 1 to 1 cars that they are not licensed to be in the game... They're just debadged. Are we really surprised they stole bodykits. I've seen plenty of bodykits already without licensing. This is one is no different even if it's from just one guy. Doesnt matter if they made the model from scratch or not. They do not own it.

CarX can "waste" months too add a vehicle.. Yet, can't waste less then 5 minutes too send a email to a creator too ask for their permission to use whatever they created.. CarX, only crossplay drifting game out there that's decent.. Well, if any game studios is out there, now would certainly be a good time to steal their throne.. I'm not a game designer or progammer of any sorts, but can it really be that hard since there has been plenty of good games that's been created by 1 too 10 people out there?

Knowing some internals of software development in Russia I could say that probably product owner (project manager) didn't know that they used some pictures from the internet, rather than designer decided to play a low ball and copy it but didn't tell anyone lol :))))

And we were expecting CarX Street coming along to PC. This one warcrime CHANGED EVERYTHING...

CarX and many games including Grand Theft Auto copy cars that they don't own rights or bought the license to, they change the names and don't use logos and stuff yet people never seem to complain about that. When CarX copies a body kit and its not even a 100% copy people get up in arms though CarX even before the Ferrari already had body kits implemented from Liberty Walk, Rocket Bunny, etc. This is nothing new. If one person wants their designs to have even a little bit of protection then they need to file for copyright/patent paperwork.

Well no, it's the creators creative property. It's like making a song with remixed vocal samples and someone is then taking your song and putting it in their game as a soundtrack. Copyright is not that simple, the song is still a newly made creation. So is the wide body kit. There is a difference between "sampling" and stealing. :)

So, from what I'm gathering, since the original model isn't shared, that someone at CarX used the models images to recreate a like 95% accurate copy of the bodykit with some VERY minor changes, without contacting the original models creator.. I'm just curious if the original model creator has it licensable, if so they could REALLY rake CarX over the coals, I mean they already can cause it's someones intelectual property, but if it's something that's taged with something like [Licensable] that just slaps a whole lot of other legal stuff onto it that the original author could bring down on CarX.

Artists who upload their work to ArtStation typically retain the copyright to their creations. This means that you generally cannot use or reproduce their images without permission.

@@Goosiest Ah okay, I never use ArtStation or look at it. Glad they protect their community of artists though. And with that being said, CarX would be smart to remove the car from their game. OR at least that bodykit and make one of their own.

@@cyromigueldesigner7475 As long as you're alright with your work being in the game, and as long as both parties comes to an agreement then all is good. What is interesting and worrying is, how many more kits are stolen pieces of work from others, you already uncovered 1 other stolen kit. Hopefully the other creator and CarX can come to a similar agreement as yours, but now I really question a lot of the other kits of the MANY other cars in the game, and I probably won't be returning to CarX ever again.

Dude used a Ferrari F40 which he doesn’t own as a base, you can use inspiration from where ever you want, car x did nothing wrong

The F40 Bodykit is an Artpiece. The creator Cyro did not sell or monetize this artpiece afaik. He is allowed to use the F40 as a base and even the rear lights of the Mustang under fair use, as long as he doesn't make profit with that artpiece. When a company like the CarX developers then use this artpiece in their game, which does cost money for the cosumer to buy, thats where the problem lies. They profited of that artpiece what they copied. That is at minimum shady, but a copyright infringement at best.

i know that cyro miguel is from portugal i noticed from the emails there was one thing saying "traduzir para portugues" and that means to translate the email to portuguese from portugal :D and im from the same country as him

it is actually legal to make something based off something, most obvious, glaring, example the Racing Point RP20, also, that's how emulators get reverse engineered, that why there's so many minecraft ripoffs etc, it's sad but perfectly legal

a thing to mention, they dont have liscences of the real cars, like actual Ferrari permission to have their car, or any other brand ingame, this aint a new thing, its just the way they be doin it since ever, we can consider other brands bodykits aswell, oringin labo, bn sports, rocket bunny, etc

Going public before a complete resolution can have a negative effect on the outcome... Might have been better to play it out low key......unless it went fully south. I do get the idea to bring this to the attention of the masses though.

I've been following the guys work for a while who made the second kit , I'm surprised that he's work was used without permission

I remember playing CarX when I was younger, back in that day the game was awesome and most importantly the devs CARED ABOUT HIS GAME which now is not being done. I quit playing CarX a cajole of months ago because of this.

What surprises me is that people are just now starting to bring up these topics about game developers stealing models and adding them to the game without permission. In fact, all concerns like BMW, Mercedes, Lamborghini, etc. can sue them too, because they literally use a real car just without a brand name plate and that's it, at one moment CarX Technologies will go bankrupt and it will take a long time to pay back the money or someone will go to jail. The developers are actually walking on very thin ice.

This just hurts me to see, one of my favorite games going downhill. Love your videos Goose, Glad you're not afraid to speak out.

I love the 1967 mustang and Ferrari especially the F40 and I have not played carx in a long time but might need to hope back on to cop that body kit shits dope straight fire(good job Cyro)

Already had to wait 3 weeks after everyone else to get the update on switch so hopefully if another update is getting pushed I hope they do more than just update the f40
