Whenever I have a closed vector inside another one...i have struggled with this so much.just adding another section changes the carve to be the inverse. Its really complicated when youre using complex designs. I wish there was a way to tell yhe software what to do where. Thank you for your video. Youre the first one I've seen even touch on that topic. Great channel

It’s amazing how one line can change the total look of the project. Thank you for pointing this out. I’ve never used the solid view icon at the top, thanks for that tip.

Not really. You're paying attention to the colors, not so much the geometry

I've recently found your channel and realized you are the best expert with Vcarve, all levels. I have a problem, unrelated to this video, however. Although I've been in touch with Vectric about my issue, they are very responsive but haven't yet grasped my problem. One day, I imported the attached clipart and proceeded to create a toolpath for my project. However, a couple days later, I was unable to import the very same picture without this square around the picture because the square is 'active', and can't select the picture, as I had before. I now, can't import anything without this square of magenta dashed lines within which my subject is encased making the item useless. If you have a free moment, I would appreciate your input, if I have explained this clearly enough. Thanks, Bill

Kyle: You mentioned that you could not get sharp inside corners with a pocket tool path. Is this true is the pocket tool path uses a V-bit?

Isn't Prism cut is the opposite of vcarve cut?

Yes, but Prism cutting would give you an entirely different look altogether. Basically, vcarving cuts valleys and prism cuts mountains. With prism cutting, you usually also have to add a pocket toolpath to clear all the leftover material.

@@LearnYourCNC My point was, The white-on-black "Learn Your CNC" could be considered flattened prism, no?
