Cartoons of the 1960s
Remember sitting in front of the TV as a kid on those Saturday and Sunday mornings for hours watching our favorite cartoons? This should bring back some of those memories. Some of these of course were made before the 1960s but we were still watching them at that time and even now a lot of these are still on TV. Enjoy! P.S. Yes I forgot Casper! sorry.

OMG how these clips bought a tear to my eye as I had forgotten all about so many of these cartoons,,and yet as I viewed these clips I was wooshed back to my childhood where watching cartoons highlighted such a simple time of my true youth. We all could not wait to grow up never realizing just how great we had it in our cartoon viewing days. Thanks for the trip back to THEE day.

Nostalgia of another lifetime, it is really deep!
The 60s and 70s were the best times to be a kid!!
These were important parts of my childhood entertainment joys.
The way children cartoons were meant to be. Thanks for the memories. Most of these played on Saturday mornings well into the seventies and a few made it to the early 80's, before TV programing decided to change format. Sunday morning was for Family Classics in Chicago.
You helped this 2000s kid feel like a 1960s kid. Thanks a lot!
WOW! thanks for the memories. Having been born in 1955, I know every one of these! What a great time to have been a kid!
I love this. It makes me want to be a kid again.

Whoa! My entire childhood from age 4 to 13 just flashed before my eyes! Thanks for the memories. Very nice choice of tunes also.
You just can't beat the 60's for cartoons and i know there will be some that disagree with me on this.I would wake up early every saturday morning and watch these gems.
I loved Underdog as a kid. Mainly cause my nanny had a VHS tape of "The Big Shrink" & I had a plushie of Underdog along with a T-shirt. Then later on I had a DVD set containing 3 episodes

You did a great job on this! I remember about 90% of these cartoons not only on a Saturday morning but weekdays as well. They would air them at 4:00 on a couple of stations here hosted by a kiddie personality!
im only 14 but these cartoons are timless classics i will always remember these cartoons from my parents and pass them along the generations
Saturday mornings were very special back in the day..I feel sorry for modern kids in that they missed those times.
It was the only day of the week that mothers would consider cold cereal to be a fully nourishing breakfast.
it was a great and nice times
i wasa born in the 90's but i still spent each weekend watching these
This is great! It reminds me of my own childhood, watching these cartoons on tv. The best.....excellent job in making this video!
WOW ...THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES....WAS HAVING A CHALENGING DAY...BUT THIS CAME MY WAY...
Me too, 143ac . If you were born in the 1950's you were there to see the start of all the kids shows and cartoons. We were the first generation to have TV , and the first kids to have kids shows and toy commercials! We watched TV before the Flintstones were on. My childhood memory starts with Spunky and Tadpole , Colonel Bleep., Crusader Rabbit,.
My parents forbade me and my sister to watch Sat. morning cartoons; we were made to go outdoors and play, so I don't know many of these. I do remember, though, how much I loved THE JETSONS.
Saturday morning cartoons was fantastic in the 60's. I remember sneaking leftover chocolate cake & ice cream for breakfast, while my parents slept..then watched cartoons. I was caught!
My favourite was The Flinstones. Sure miss the good old days Beauiful memories
Yeah, what ever happened to Sat. morning cartoons? Sat. used to be something you really looked forward to as a kid. Not anymore. Sad. We were lucky to grow up in this era of cartoons and tv.

Space Ghost, Three Stooges Cartoon Show, Mr. Magoo, The Funny Company, Roger Ramjet, Milton the Monster, Wacky Races, Where's Huddles?, The non 60's cartoon shows I use to love were Super Car, Fireball XL5, Stingray, Gumby, Disney's Wide World of Color, The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Batman, The Green Hornet, Time Tunnel and the Wild, Wild West which currently comes to mind,
Classic Cartoons

@poshpaulie Back then as kids it was easy to get up early on the weekends to watch the cartoons, but not easy to get up just as early to go to school! lol

Astroboy , Kimba , 8th man , The Amazing Three , Aquaboy , from the mid 1960's .
i freakin love walking down memory lane, and thanks for providing that opportunity. Have you heard of the S.F. morning show for kids, Captain Fortune by any chance? Probably in the 50's. Thanks again, annie
Muttley's name was misspelled. Still, a terrific video and perfect songs for it.

And now people watch them on the computer because it's not on TV anymore, which sucks, I watch them all the time and I'm only 12 :) Too bad The Beatles broke up.
You forgot King Leonardo, Tennessee Tuxedo, George of the Jungle, Felix The Cat, Mr. Magoo, and Heckle & Jeckle!
@pikafan21 You must have turned your head at the 3:55 mark of the video, that's the Beatles. I would never forget my fav group of all time!
Well done....
Memories:speed racer flintstones space ghost and scooby doo
If only the cartoons of today were like the cartoons of the 1960's
best cartoons ever may they rip the beter bring them ba or elsa
they left out "Ricochet Rabbit"! He was my first favorite cartoon character.
You can get these cartoons on boomerang channel in USA.
Not all of those are cartoons of the '60s per se as some are theatrical cartoons from earlier decades and somethe Dr. Seuss material, were from one-shot TV specials. More appropriate bsckground music than adult love songs like "Sunday Will never Be The Same" and "Traces" would have been TV themes or hits insipired by the characters, like Me; Blanc's "I Taut I Taw A Puddy Tat" and "Yosemite Sam," Kay Kyser's "Woody Woodpcker Song" (where was HE?), The Archies' "Sugar Sugar," etc. Regardless, a nice montage.
u damn right somethings wont be the same the cartoons back then were a whole lot better back then. i wish i could see new episodes of does cartoons but it wouldnt be the same. they would use different voices
Wow, im only 22 and 90% of these made up my catroon watching in my childhood! i can think of a few that were not there but a few i had totally forgotten about - Witch hazil - and btw TC was the tits, really glad i stumbled over this really took me back a bit and now i feel rather old lol. thanks alot for uploading :)
ohhhhhhhhh yes.
@SlapstickCoyote Not to mention Casper the Friendly Ghost was from the 30s too.
Some of them I said: '' Theres a TV show for that?!?!?!'' Like The Cat in the Hat and Speed Racer
what about The Alvin Show?
your 60's toon tribute is awesome!... I don't care for the newer toons. Give me the old ones!!
Mighty Mouse was remade in the 80's (along with others),But what was it he(M.M) did in the 80's that he never did before ??? Any guesses???
60s>>90s by far
@Randyicdl I read you post and believe it or not, the show was titled "Funky Phantom"...
Now i know where my bro got the t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-that's all folks!
@CASteel1 The Superfriends was the 70's. There was a Justice League of America in the 60's
@AmberWaves444 The video was great and it brought back fond memories.
very nice but you forgot on Courageous cat and minute mouse.
@Cakerolled actually i remeber watching them up until around 2004
Hey what happen to Space Ghost, Mighty Mightor, The Herculoids, and Shazzan?
Why don't they still play these? Seems like they suddenly stopped airing them in around the mid 90s. No child should have to go without Wally Gator.
Can someone help me to find an old cartoon? All I remember it was about some funny birds with tools for their beaks. There was a hammer-nose bird, a screwdriver bird, photo bird, etc. I also remember some kids as the main characters of this series, and there also was a villain (guy on the airplane). I saw it on local TV in the early 90's, but i'm sure it was a re-run of some classic 60's show, because I watched Heckle and Jeckle, Mighty Mouse and Mighty Heroes in the same cartoon block. Please excuse my poor english, but I really need help. This is a mystery of my whole childhood.

No, not Woody. I thought it was something from TerryToons studio classics, but I couldn't find anything similar. No one seems to remember it, so it's probably only exists in my imagination.
ha ha I remember that
@wilesy247 some of the cartoons (as the y were called) it has the same effect on I. And to make you feel better; I am 52.
The Max Fleischer Popeye cartoons are from the 1940's, or 1950's?
Oh my God, I'm crying!!! These were my childhood friends!!!
I remember watching The Beatles cartoon on KZread as a young kid in 4th grade! Still a great show.
So wonderful songs and cartoons. I wish I lived in that ages.
I was born in 1969. I remember almost all of these as 70s cartoons! Nice memories!
