Cartoon, Sing Beast Sing. Music Willie Mabon
I recorded this cartoon off B.B.C. 2 about 20 years ago. I can remember my son saying at the time that Vern looked like me.! [ Kids can be so cruel, at times ]

I saw this on Nickelodeon! Dig that!
They played this as a short (along with J. Geils Band "Love Stinks") before RHPS at the Neptune in Seattle in the early 80s when I was an undergrad at UW. Wow, memories.
I first saw this between features in a movie theater in 1979, so this marvelous Marv Newland cartoon is at least 42 years old. And the song by Willie Mabon was recorded in 1953.
thanks! this film by Marv Newland, great!

I saw this on Nickelodeon as well for the first time back in the 80's. When I saw it then, it aired between shows as an interstitial "filler" of sorts. Nick used to air quite a few short films back in the 80s-90s between programs to fill out the time, also including the other films that Marv Newland (the creator of this film) made under his "International Rocketship Limited" studio.

I interpret it that he reached over to the 'fridge to get another beer without getting off his stool, and fell over in the attempt.
