@@AT-gk1tw I heavily compressed and colored my mic signal, and added EQ in post to emphasis the mids. I also put all my audio through a warbled tape emulator, which really locked everything together nicely!

Man, if it weren't for the cartoon aesthetic, I'd be literally terrified watching this. Even in its current form its a little unnerving I'm saying this in a good way, btw. You guys are SO talented and amazing!

Old cartoons are no stranger to the dark and twisted. Look up Fleischer Studio's "Swing you Sinners" for the best example.

The cartoon art style and sound really do make it even more enjoyable and funny.

Old timey cartoons were great and this video captures their essence, with a touch of Marvel. 👌 I love this!

Killing it with this old style animation. It's like how the electric swing renewed the desire for people to listen to it again.

This came out so good I'm proud to have worked on this! The music & sound turned out PERFECT and so fun!!

This is such inspired work, guys. Huge ups to the animators that did such a great job of paying tribute to that old period of animation in a really fun and engaging way. Buzancoin to the moon!

Hahahaha, I friggin' loved this! This was beautiful all the way through, whoever decided to mix Venom with old timey animation is a genius. It was a perfect fit, and the people responsible for the animation and music KILLED it. The old Minnie the Moocher rotoscoping scene really got me. Y'all did your homework for this one. I'm seeing alot of people who worked on this commenting, you've all got at least one new subscriber, cuz gottdang.

This suddenly makes me want to look for a comic where Venom and Doc Ock duke it out.

This was just a absolute ride from start to end. It manages to nail the characterizations of Venom mixed with the Fliescher cartoons perfectly, and the song number only drove it home. Great job!

LOVE this one. One of the best you've done. Classic black and white Silver Screen style, and the classy old time music was PERFECT! We need to see this animation and music style to come back to mainstream! Please do MORE like this!

I noticed that the music doc ock is playing is his theme song in Spider-Man 2. Nice touch

4:00 minute mark is possibly the best part in my opinion. This is art.

When you realize.... Venom as a Rubber Hose Toon works so insanely well... After all he's already black and white with a lot of Toon force abilities already, like squashing and stretching and all.

For some reason the Doc Ock in this cartoon gives Me classic Dr Robotnik vibes...

Made me think of the Walrus in the Betty Boop animation

This artstyle is a combination of charming history and nostalgia/ unsettling imagery not scary just creepy.

This was crazy amazing! So accurate to the old school videos.

Now THIS is awesome!

This is an amazing nod to the classic, trippy style of animation. A true celebration of cerebral lethal protecting.

The little tune reference to Doc Ock's theme is so clever.

The lesson Doc Oc learned: Don't mess with Venom's EDDIE! Great Video! It is interesting to see rubber hose slowly coming back as an animation style.

FUN FACT: The dance Venom was doing was inspired by the the dancing Ghost Walrus from "Minnie the Moocher" (Betty Boop). The music performed by Cab Calloway's orchestra. Cab also voiced the Ghost Walrus.

I love everything about this from the traditional rubber hose animation, the classic humor, the lil voices the characters make, even the music. This definitely honors that era, Also please, somebody has to make a full version of “I fear for you my friend when venom come for you”. Just that bit has been in my head, amazing job😄

Since everything is practically alive in a retro cartoon, a symbiote would be a nightmare.

I absolutely adore this style of animation for this!!! The wacky rubberhose, looping style of animation, old timey music and sound design compliment each other in a way I never thought possible, yet made me wonder why this wasn't made before. There was also the unique way each character's power was portrayed and some of the scenes in the short look like something I wouldn't be surprised to see in Woody Woodpecker or Popeye the Sailorman. Overall, astounding mashed, great work!

This is without a doubt something I never knew I wanted but I'm glad it happened! :D This also showcases on how Venom works shockingly well as a rubberhose character in his own right. Makes me want to see the other symbiotes done this way too especially Carnage.

You guys capture the aesthetic of every cartoon you make. It's phenomenal.

I knew immediately when I saw a cartoony looking thumbnail with Venom in the name and title that I would love this video. I was right.

I can’t stop watching Venoms dance. The animation on it is so smooth.

Absolutely amazing I am a big fan of Max Fleischer cartoons. I found it interesting how this style was different. Back then Fleischer used rotoscoping that copied a real actors movements making the cartoon very life like. Max was dealing with Walt Disney stealing credit from him and wanted to one up Walt by always having movement in his cartoons creating the iconic Fleischer Bounce. This video is animated through 2D software and movement isn't as exaggerated or life like compared to rotoscoping techniques except for the part where venom is dancing on the train clapping his ckeeks as a nod to Fleischer's work with Cab Calloway dancing. I would really enjoy more work like this.

Somewhere out there. This is canon within the multiverse.

God dam the music was good. would be great to see a full soundtrack especially the when venom comes for you song.

@Reaver Of the Legacy No, I only wrote as much as you hear in the cartoon. But I do want to make a little behind-the-scenes video on my channel, which I sometimes do. Also, sometimes Mashed asks me to make full versions of the little songs I write for their stuff, because people ask for it in the comments enough. Like the song now called "And There You Are", which was originally just a 30-second rock ballade thing I wrote for a short dream sequence in a Mashed cartoon, but everyone in the comments was asking what the song was 😁

This animation style was my childhood. Such a nostalgic trip I was laughing and smiling through the whole thing.

Absolutely gorgeous. Venom and Eddy work really good in old style animation. Really did feel like one of those old cartoons from back in the day with a grim undertone. Absolutely loved it^^
