Cartoon Network is FIGHTING BACK Against Warner Bros Discovery

Warner Bros Discovery made Cartoon Network remove shows from HBO Max like Infinity Train, Mao Mao and Uncle Grandpa. Infinity Train creator Owen Dennis has now come forward with additional insider details about The Great Cartoon Network Purge, and what's going on.
When Cartoon Network shows started dropping off HBO Max, people got worried about what the future holds for the Warner Bros Discovery merger. What will CEO David Zaslav do with the rest of Cartoon Network? Will Infinity Train and the other shows disappear forever? There are still mysteries, but we should support Cartoon Network as much as we can!

Infinity Train and several other shows are likely being prepared to get sold to another platform or channel (hence the removal of all ads, music, and physical merch in addition to the show off main platform). We'll have to keep an eye out next week if this is what is going on.

To make a long story short, said comment referenced a time where Zaslav had...an encounter with the court of law over something business related; which leads me to believe the man has made similar bad choices for Discovery (even before this merger.) Like Valiskibum94 has said before, this year might have been the worst one for the animation industry, but the medium will always go through ups and downs. We will make a comeback from this. It may take some time, but creativity in animation will always find a way. With the huge amount of popularity of indie animation and now recently Cartoon Network disapproving Discovery decisions, this proves that point. The message is that we and they care about this fantastic medium. I’m happy for CN’s declaration.

It is WAY PAST TIME to fight back! We NEED to keep ALL Cartoon Network shows easily available for generations to come! Whether the universally loved stuff like Dexter’s Lab and The Powerpuff Girls, the deep cuts like Megas XLR and Sym-Bionic Titan, the not so well known stuff like The Moxy Show and Time Squad or… whatever else you can think of! Even shows that don’t hold up so well, like Mike, Lu & Og, deserve to be available to those who want to watch them! At this point, it might be best for Turner to break free from Warner Bros and for Cartoon Network to get back the glory they had when Adventure Time took off! I’ve always been with Cartoon Network through thick and thin, this great channel deserves a brighter future more than ever!

While it's good that Cartoon Network themselves aren't really part of the blame for this situation, the fact that they warned Discovery not to do this and they chose to do it anyway is so terrible that it's baffling to me. It gives such a terrible impression of the new leadership from this merger, which was already pretty bad with cancelling finished movies and projects, and it burns so many bridges with the creators of these and other shows. It makes working for Cartoon Network and pitching shows to them far more of a risk. Why bother taking a show to them when they could potentially be removed in a few years? Even if they are saving some money by removing these shows, which would sadly make sense, is it really worth all of the backlash they've gotten both from fans and people within the industry itself? Cartoon Network has written off shows in the past and that is still pretty lousy, but the fact that Discovery removed so many shows all at once with no heads up to the production crews and even removing them from their streaming service is far worse. In the mist of all of this chaos, it is kind of reassuring that so many of these shows are selling well on iTunes. I adore Infinity Train and I do like the creator is optimistic for the show's future. The fact that is is still selling well on iTunes, along with some of the other series, will hopefully stand out to any higher ups. It shows that these series have strong appeal and that they could potentially have gotten more money out of them if they didn't treat these shows like dirt. I already bought all of Infinity Train on iTunes and hopefully I can do that with some of the other shows affected by this decision. I haven't seen all of the other shows affected by this decision, but I'd love for shows like OK KO and Summer Camp Island to be made legally available too. I just hope that some good can come out of this mess at some point.

This is the result of a creative industry at large having people in charge who put stats above creativity, and don't understand why shows like Spongebob and Adventure Time become popular to begin with. They only see it's popular and want to use that data to create failed spin-offs, remakes, and copycat shows. I understand you have to try and reduce risks to make products successful, but this is an example of taking it too far. They'll only hurt the brands so many have worked so hard to mean something.
