I read that CN City debuted June 2004 until it ended June 2007 along with the YES! era. So by next month, it will 16 years since the debut.

@@trenellcameron But both of the eras (City and Yes!) are not concurrent; however the City era was the original one (which had the original bumpers and the original Now/Then bumpers) to be defunct on April 2, 2006 before it was pushed aside in favor of Yes! era (rarely, the original City bumpers were temporary removed in beginning of this era; though the City bumpers were still occasionally used during that era).

Cartoon Network couldn't do bumpers like these today. With so few cartoon characters the city would be practically empty, and with such little variety every character would just be meeting their clones.

Trenell Cameron Yeah I noticed that too! I think they did that because of the show’s popularity at that time. But it would have been neat to see more of the other shows since the Foster’s characters overshadowed them

In my opinion, two things played a role here:Economics and the New Cultural/or Countercultural Wave. As long as the economy was stable, everything was fine, and as soon as the economic crisis of 2008-2009 came. Then cartoons went into stagnation and the number of good cartoons abruptly stopped being produced. Mass layoffs of talented employees have begun. And to speed up production and make it cheaper, they began to use flash animation, which visually spoiled the cartoons with its all-out drawing. If you've been paying attention, then all the cartoons for more than 10 years have the same faces, the same eyes with large black pupils, a bean-shaped mouth. They borrowed this style of faces from Asian children's cartoons for 3-year-olds there, everything looks like this so that all the new animators do is just copy the finished eyes and mouth and insert them into their cartoons. Also in the first half of the 2010s there is another cultural /countercultural wave that was most likely a consequence of the economic crisis. As a result, same-sex relationships, feminization, and so on are now inserted into children's cartoons. Now the current cartoons are divided into 2 categories: Either they are too children's cartoons that should be for an audience of 6 years old and in fact look like 0 years old, in which they add stupid characters who can't even joke except to fart and their dialogues are so slow, as if they have a delay in development, well, no action not anymore. And other cartoons for an audience a little older who are over 10 years old or more, then cartoons are usually the same in terms of drawing and almost look like for children from 0 years old, the only difference is that there are LGBT people there. Therefore, many modern children and teenagers, as an alternative, began to watch anime en masse, which I did not like as this genre. As a result, views have dropped and now Cartoon Network is living out its last days at all. That's the sad fate of the current Western cartoons. From the 60s to the 80s, there was also a crisis of animation, which was replaced by its revival in the 90s, so maybe when the cultural policy in the United States changes, then cartoons will become better. So we hope and believe in the best

TBH, I remember this since I was a kid and never stopped looking for it just to see Bloo sing all day long

Maaaaan I knew early 2000's was amazing but I didn't expect it to be this much amazing, let's hope they can return to this quality when the new CEO comes and I gave up this platform not about TTG as I have some favorites but the fact there's not many shows they're making for long time fans like me and it's aiming at kids, like only kids and nothing for the older audience, sure seeing Firebreather again is the best but there's nothing else. Let's hope they give a new season of Teen Titans as you can see I understand it's important and especially more for Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, just something to keep fans like me on the platform...

@TechMasterJason And to think, a lot of children dream of becoming adults expecting something spectacular and amazing to happen. Don't get me wrong, adulthood has its positives: staying up late, making your own choices, driving, being wiser than you were as a kid, and other perks. Nothing beats childhood though. Especially when you grew up in a time of a "media explosion" and all this cartoon variety and stuff. Miss it. Hope they come back.

I wish I was still 5 years old right now.

Foster’s Home was one of the best shows ever on Cartoon Network. And promoting it a lot.

I remember the first one. If I remember correctly, we didn't get the Cartoon Network City theme in my country until early or mid 2006 because we still had the ''character to character'' bumpers. I believe they reused this bumper again for Summer 2007 over here.

I was playing the SNES, Sega Genesis, EPSXE Emulators, then playing the GameCube Console, Dreamcast, and N64 when we had Direct TV in Southside Clairmont Apartment front of the Highland Golf Course in Birmingham, Alabama.
