I find battles between these "meh" factions way more exciting than battles between the power faction sword-spam. Feels like the army composition becomes way more important in this kind of match with more of those clutch moments like the Macedonians losing their cavalry here

Sweet battle! I agree with some of the other comments here, it's awesome to see so many mid- to low-tier multiplayer factions shining. It seems like the meta has shifted away from using the best factions toward being creative and efficient with some of the weaker factions.

Good scrap. I really like the pace of the battles in Rome 2.

I like hoplites factions and republic era Romans

I feel like missiles are OP. What’s the point of Armor and shields if you can be shredded by slung rocks? I feel like ancient armies wouldn’t have invested in armor and all that infrastructure if slung rocks were so effective.

A good cavalry charge or shield wall advance would counter act pretty well. A game can't fully grasp what ancient battles were like. Also having your own slingers slug it out. Armor and shields were still very much necessary lol

@@VyBnSaturn i think slingers need to be nerfed pretty hard. They shouldn’t do much actual damage to shielded and armored units only moral penalties over time under fire. Archers should be able to do some damage but shields should also counter them pretty hard especially professional soldiers with shields. The fact is nobody invests and focuses on melee infantry or cavalry unless you pretty effectively counter missile weapons. Isn’t modern warfare the perfect example of this? Melee combat is gone because missiles are so effective.

Very risky army from macedon, unfortantely they got the timing wrong on their push and allowed too much cav to go down to missile fire.

I would be shocked if CA isn't getting fairly close to announcing another historical title. Maybe they won't but I think they are probably moving along on one.
