Just bought this radio, the manual is poor, too small for people who not have perfect eyes, but on the website you can download the PDF manual makes life much easyer. Btw; a DAB+ window sticker antenna was included in the box, first quick test i had the antenna not even fixed on the window but lay down on dashboard and already lot of stations got listed. I will finnish the installation next week as i need to change my speakers too, one had failed after 10 years so both doors i have to disamble for that and place extra tweeters too as i am getting old high tones need extra attention -). I have the X5600BT, just very good, but I ordered this X7800DAB just for one thing, an equalizer 13 bands, thirteen !!!! to make a perfect sound, so good.

Great video. The high/low xover setting and the time align, do these function work with the built in amplifiers?

It's a cool video. Here's something you'd like to consider: I just upgraded my OEM stereo, a Pioneer DEH 1300R to a Pioneer DEH 4900DAB and a new set of aftermarket Audison speakers. The sound was brilliant but I decided I wanted FLAC and Bluetooth for hands-free. So I upgraded to the model you just reviewed, the DEH-X7800DAB. I was really so shocked by how bad it sounded, I took it back and reverted to the DEH4900BDAB. Huge difference! I even tried a Clarion head-unit first: Nice sound but distortion when I turned up the volume deterred me. The difference was so great, I chose the cheaper DEH-4900DAB above the Clarion and DEH X7800DAB. So I have two suggestions: 1. Listen to the stereo and talk about the sound. I've reasoned it's possible the higher end Pioneer Might be better technically, but not to appealing to my taste, but it definitely killed the Bass. Sounds like a tin can! So I had to accept losing its extra features to get the better sound. 2. The difference is so big, I'm still worried a mistake has been made. Maybe the HPF feature was cutting the bass and I didn't even know? So it's important to listen to the stereo and find out what difference you can make with different settings. Starting with them all off for a "straight" signal. So, those two things: Actually describe the sound and say how you feel it compares to other units, and having done that, then talk about what the settings do and how they change the sound. The lesson I learned is this: Car stereos are far too much sold in features, so much you can get more features but lose sound quality if it hasn't been well thought out. I've also learned it's possible to change the filter settings to assist with ironing out distortion. It'd be great to see video dealing with the details of the sound and function.

This radio will work for someone with a big system with woofers and 4 Chanel amps for the mids and highs for door speakers. U never want bass on your door speakers if u have a big system. The bass will be produced by the subwoofers. I have the pioneer deh-x8800bhs and its a beast my system is stupid loud and clean.

It is worth mentioning that the MVH-X580DAB is the same unit but withouth cd-player (mechless). So you have 2 reviews in 1 video.

Thanks for this English translation, really appreciated ! Can you tell me if the SW RCA can be use also for régular 3 way laustspeekers (instead of a sub) ? I mean by that the Front RCA will be used for the dashboard speakers through an amplifier, the Rear RCA for the front speakers (front doors) through an amplifier and the SW RCA for the 3ways speekers on the boot through also an amplifier. So my question is the following: the signal which get our from this 3 RCA outpout are original or are they filtered in frequencies ? Thanks for your return

I just have a question, about the RCA behind it : There is 1 slot for each speaker, I guess - (1/Front Left 2/Right Left 3/Rear Left 4/Rear Right) Ok. But so : why is there 2 slots for the subwoofer ?? Isn't the subwoofer in Mono ?? Thanks :) have a good day

Important question: When you pair up your phone via bluetooth, is the radio able to use your phone microphone as input ? Or, does an external mic need to be connected at the back of the radio? Pleased to hear back!

I liked the video and the effort behind it. Even like the device. Will be buying one for my BMW E38. I presently have a Sony single din stereo which is fully operational but sucks! Pioneer made this bad in comparison to the FH-X840DAB where you can use the ARC app through Bluetooth. I tried to do this all yesterday and failed, today i found your video and yes it work through wired. I still think pioneer should have allowed for Bluetooth
