Cars upon cars: A lifetime collection leaves Tom speechless | Barn Find Hunter - Ep. 117
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
It's part two of Dave Coleman's collection and the list of cars keeps on growing. The list consists of but is not limited to Porsche, Volkswagen, MG, Crosley, Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Studebaker, Hudson, Buick, Lincoln, and more. Dave certainly has one of the most eclectic tastes in cars we have seen so far. Tom walks through the rest of Dave's barn find collection and points out the cars he thinks have appeal and finds out some have interesting stories.

Fully agreed. I'm watching this all the way from the Netherlands (Tom, we'd love to have you here someday!) and wishing it was longer. Car culture in foreign countries is always really interesting and entertaining. Keep on doing what you do best Tom and the team!

I had the pleasure to meeting Dave briefly at the Whistle Stop just outside of Summit Point a couple years ago. He was driving the Hudson and stopped for lunch. He was nice enough to share the history of the car and give us great detail on the build. What a great guy and a cool car. The engineering on that ride was very impressive. Dave, If you read this, thanks for your time and sharing.

Dave loves to teach, educate and inform. Hes a great man!
Longer videos please. 9+ minutes is not nearly long enough. Love Barn Find Hunter! ❤️
Thanks as always, Tom. The overwhelming collection displayed here is simply staggering. I hope Mr. Coleman has plans to get some assistance and perhaps starts finding the next good stewards for so many deserving cars?? Off to visit Davin, see you next time... - Ed on the Ridge
having all these bad ass cars around not being enjoyed makes me incredibly sad
Just makes my evening complete when see 'Barn Find Hunter' love it Tom and crew. Keep up the great work 👍
WOW, amazing to see my old friend Dave and his yard. Spent a lot of time at his place way way way back when. Loved driving around the race track in his Karmann Ghia, going super fast on the open highway in his vette, and watching him hone some cylinders. Go Dave! I loved his '48 Chevy tow truck. Both he and Tom have more knowledge than an encyclopedia.
Thanks Hagerty for making this series regular once again. Always excited to see what Tom will find around another barn.
Love it all! Doesn't matter how rusty, still has more character and charm than anything new!!!!
Always excited for another episode. Thanks Tom!
*Barn Find Hunter this is the best channel on KZread. Thank you Hagerty and the entire crew!*
The turbo badge on the Corvair is fantastic.

The Corvair is actually a '62 per the front 'grille' moldings.
Where the hell have you all been?! Please keep barn find going I miss it dearly. Also keep the videos at least 20 plus minutes. Please and thank you
Dave's a class act. Thanks for sharing, Sir! :)
It would be so awesome if Jay Leno would make a visit with a huge car hauler to Dave's property...so many gems there!
I really enjoy this series 👏 Greetings from Trinidad 🇹🇹
I'm glad these cars were "saved" but i really hope they can be saved from rotting in a field like this. There is way too much cool stuff here to just be some yard ornament, i hope they all find homes.
Best job on the planet and no one could do it better. Dave needs to write a book.
What an amazing collection! Thanks for walking us through it! 🔥❤👍👍
If it's the car I think it might be, I built that Charger for a friend with muscular dystrophy (Not MS). I also installed the seat lift and it was built by the machinist at Johns Hopkins Biomedical Engineering. It had an oscilloscope in the glove box, a healthkit exhaust gas analyzer, fire suppression and a beautiful "Teal Green Sunfire" paint job and the vinyl roof was removed (the chrome trim was retained. The exhaust system was stainless steel built by Herb Gebler near Laurel MD. It has a special 'racing' automatic transmission with a chrome pan. The engine is a blue printed 383, no expense spared, and high compression despite the turbochargers. So incredibly sad to see it like this.

Thats probably it.. The man you speak of that worked at the biomed department at Hopkins name was John. He lived in Paradise.he passed a few years ago.

Yup, John Kummel I think. The previous owner and I poured a lot into that car.
Sad how some people just let these Gems sit outside in the elements to rot instead of selling them to someone to restore them.
Mr Hagerty, I really enjoy your video's. The relationships you've built & knowledge of the cars, years , Motors trim 😆😂 It's really impressive & alot of fun. The point of your journey is, there's still alot of survivor's out there. Few people find. You have the knack. It really is about the people, thier stories & connection to them & why they survive. Often kept in reserve for the right enthusiast mate Manifesting. . Well done Sir.
Mr. Cotter, you know classic cars better than anyone I've known, and that's saying something!! Thank you!
This series is why I subscribed to Hagerty.

Is it just me, or are Barn Find Hunter videos getting shorter and shorter and shorter? Not complaining because I just love Tom's style and laid back interaction with all these kooky car peeps. Just wishing the videos would get a little longer instead. Thanks Hagerty! Thanks Tom!

Except I don't think Senna ever raced in a Vee , I think he went from Karting to FF1600.
What a mix, & to keep them running too! Well, some, lol. Watched a lot of the Super V's in the early 80's, especially at MIS, got some pics coming outta 2 4 wide at 170+. Back when Arie Luyendyk, Sr was winning (prior to CART). Gotta pic of him in the garage area, wrenching... When we asked to get the shot, he quick pulls up & fastens his racing suit & tucked his helmet under an armpit, didn't realize till in the dark room, he still had the ratchet in the other hand... Class act !
Wild! The Porsche at 7:26 is sporting a Targa Newfoundland sticker. Guess that car has been to Newfoundland Canada for the race! Small world.
Wow what a collection of vintage vehicles,,tks for sharing
Eclectic collection of cars, thanks for showing !!!!
Thank You for Sharing - this was enjoyable.
I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Dave many times. He often comes to summit point race weekends tooling around in the 16v T roadster or the Turbo hornet. Just a super guy who gives impromptu lectures on race car engineering worth serious bucks. If you come out for an SCCA weekend there’s a good chance you can meet him and he’s always up to chat.

Fab vid. Apologies in advance. I would have prefered that you let Dave speak freely as he seemed to be dancing with his fingers wanting to comment. These kinds of Fellas are rare and I would love to hear their stories, without your interruption. Dave, what a collection and I hope someone records your story as full as you can give. Please just let them speak regardless of a perceived impediments.
Great job. Thanks for the visit.

How about letting some of us little people get a chance at having something! I don’t begrudge Mr. Collins of having what he has but compared to most of us he’s got more than enough, agree?
I had a friend years ago that had MS and drove a 70 Judge. It was modded like that Charger he talks about.
Suggestion? Bakersfield, Fresno, the Central California Valley and maybe the upper Mojave even all the way down to the Border... Lots of old trucks, etc... Farm Country.
Gosh, I would of love to hear more about all these cars. See the interior, under the hood etc. Take your time
Excellent collection!
OMG I had that SAAB Monte Carlo model in Battleship Gray and Red interior with the 3 cylinder, 850 cc, Triple Carb. until the oil injection pump failed and so did the engine. More fun that you could have with your clothes on!
Tom, what does he want for that 49 lead sled? That's my era!
I love the Lotus 7 hanging by the rope.
I would love that '68 Charger. I helped a friend restore a '70 Charger about 15/20 years ago. and I always have loved that car. we put a 440 bored out to a 500 in it. and used airplane fuel. you could watch the gas gauge go down. I'd still love to have one of my own.
You missed a lot of Pintos. Small, lightweight, fairly big engine/trans bay. You can small block one and make a real Stallion for not much.

Turbo charged 68 charger???? I’m in love.
Magnificent … all I can say is “ Only in American “ Another fine episode Tom ! I tip my hat to you sir …keep them coming .
Great collection. When are you folks going to finish Snowball's race car??????!!!!
Incredible, wow there's still beautiful cars out there,,,
Just plain cool. Wow !!
Please sell these. Watching these cars just rot away isn't right.
Need to get him to come to Connecticut, I know a guy that's got all hudsons and amcs that would make a great episode
Thank you ☺️
tnx for the video
The rustbelt saddens me. It's not kind to car lovers. But what a great collection to discover!
White 91 Audi 200 with the 3B 20vturbo in-line 5!!!!!! Background of the mopar
Wow, I also would like to buy the Charger would try to preserve the previous mods.
Some seriously cool cars collected by a dude respect sir you have automobile taste of the highest order
How can I get in touch with him? I'm interested in the Charger.
Saab 93 through too the 96 those engines out in the distance sounds like a swarm of angry bees if you look them up on KZread. " Best SAAB 2-Stroke Rallying! | Pure Engine Sound " A compilation of them doing vintage class rally with them in Sweden at mixed speeds with how some of them are as low as 25 - 33 hp while the final v4 engine had 65 - 90 hp. (90 hp model was a rare limited special order of the 96 1700s for racing/rally about 80 - 110 made was estimated.) Very forgiving cars & safe because they don't make a whole lot of power. Seen a tan or eggshell white one buzzing about here in the town every once in a while by an older gentleman who either has moved too an apartment or to assisted living.
My stepfather had a Studebaker champion for a number of years. Ever since i knew him it was a work in progress. He put a chevy 350 in it. Anyway. He had a brain tumor and could no longer work on it. He asked an old friend if he could do some work on it while he was on chemotherapy and all the drugs that went along with that. He wasnt the same after the tumor tho. One day the guy showed up when no one else was there. He loaded the car up and somehow convinced my stepfather to sign over the title to him. Never saw the car again he knew what he did. I still think about it when i see one.

Karma!!, what goes around Will come around to the thief that stole the poor man’s vehicle, how can anyone stoop to that level I don’t understand whether the person sick or not you just go and steal after the gentleman I’m sure built up a trust with the other guy and then he does that??? He’ll get his!!
that porsche is absolutely insane, how cool wow
thank you
Fun show!
Wow that old SAAB never seen one before
What about the gorgeous 1957 Corvette?
That turbo charged charger has my attention 😂
62 monza Spyder one the first. cars with a turbo ,could if showed more and talked about it
Another great episode. Any chance I could get ahold of him to purchase the 68 Charger? Thanks, Kelly from Arizona
I’d love to have the Merkur XR4TI. I had an 86 and it was a good car,but Lincolin Mercury never supported the brand correctly.
These are too good , they need to be weekly not every fortnight. And longer !
Man...That Karmman Ghia..👌
man i want one of those early 911/912 cars. shame to see that one outside
Oioohhhhhhhh.......plz send me the DODGE Charger to Portugal plz plz.....love it soooooo much! This show deserves an Oscar or something.... thanks guys you're the best!
I had a MGA back in the 70's.
Turning back then you really had to know what you're doing. ... No buying a kit then a quick tune and the computer takes over. No turning back then was no joke
When I’m an old man, this is who I want to be. But instead of old mid century Americana, I’m gonna have rusted RX7s and Nissan JDM junking in barn.

That ‘76 911 out in the field….. 😞

Lovely to see all these beautiful different models. Formula V , I am sure they are racing them again now. They all get restored. Indy 500 winner Arie Luyendijk started his career in these together with his father.

It's formula Vee, but yeah they are still quite popular. I think it's the cheapest way to get into open seater racing. Sad to see one sat outside like that
What was his price on the ‘68 charger?
oh man this guy has it right, *you cant take it with you when you go, so enjoy it while you can*
West Virginia huh? Nice!
That formula V. I would be interested in it. How do I get ahold of him.
If someone was interested in one of these vehicles, who would they contact?
The song, intro does anyone know who's music this is?
Boy, I wish this was an hour long.
How can I get in touch with him I’m interested in buying a car
See some of this to others that can salvage them before it rots away/
