I used to go with my brothers to the National Hot Rod and Customs show at the New York City Coleseum every year. And for several years the first car you saw when you emerged from the escalator was either the Predictor or the Forcaster.....WOW No, more than wow...Darril Starbird (What an amazing name!!!) Literally, well, the word reprogrammed hadn't been invented but, those two cars blew and forever changed the circuitry from the neck up of THOUSANDS of young Americans who were uddenly and forcefully jerked into the future, liked it there and left a part of their minds..and hearts there. Guess how many engineers, scientists and auto service industry personnel...and kustomizers were made in those one moments. was one of those kids and I know. Thank You Darryl.

The genuine artistry of these cars is still underrated (i.m.o.). Modern designers could still learn stuff from theses cars. Maybe not practical but fun and original.

@@MyClassicCarTV Did you ask him if any of his bubble cars can really be driven ??? Many show cars are not practical, but when you lack any real ventilation they are even worse. I've seen a few over the years, and how driving them a short distance results in dripping sweat of anyone who tried to drive it farther than from the trailer in the parking lot into the show... [ by the way the Bell UH-1 Iroquois had to have the rear doors removed for use in Vietnam in the summer, so they didn't cook everyone inside...]

I was born in 1955 in Wichita Ks. Darrell had a shop for a short time north of town and had a few cars in the front window of his shop. My dad took us kids out there to gawk at some them displayed. Man did that excursion set my imagination on fire. I didn’t see the car that captured my attention the most, it was a three wheeler with a bubble top and joystick steering. The man had quite the drive and imagination when it came to customs. Every year he hosts a car show here in Wichita. Can’t say exactly how many years is been going, but it’s got to be nearly 40 years. Definitely going make a motorcycle day trip to his museum soon.

My jaw literally dropped at some of these creations. I loved bubble top customs as a kid. So cool to see such an amazing collection. The interiors are just as amazing as the exteriors. Daryl Starbird to me, blows George Barris away as far as talent. His work had a much nicer finish to it. Barris’s stuff was great from 10 feet away.

Beautiful Cars of the future, Would be great to see these beauties on the street. I agree the motoring future is going to be more rebuilds from the past based on great platforms. There are so many great platforms produced over the decades. Who needs another mass car to buy new? When you can have the car you want for the same price as new mass car. The irony is, the "mass car" has provided us with the platforms to create our Dreams cars of the future. Imagine what you could put on a TESLA platform? The mind boggles !

Absolutely amazing how gifted and talented this Man is. And blown away by the amount of work he's completed over the last probably 45 to 50 years of his life. I was born in 68 and remember many of these cars from Hot Wheels, but I never realized that they were an actual car first 🤯 Thank you for allowing us to look into this amazing world of one-off custom made from all steele cars. They really could be from any era if one did not know about the whole bubble top thing from the 60's. Truly amazing even from the KZread perspective. sEven if you didn't care for custom cars, the amount of work and attention to detail each car received would be highly appreciated.
