Welcome to my Carrot Patch! In this beginner-friendly needle felting tutorial, I show you step by step how to create carrots from wool. Besides needle felting carrot roots I am also making some green curls from Merino tops and creating a 3D felted scene in a shadow box!

    Your so kind in helping people create. Especially the detail. We have an Easter tradition in the UK of making decorated Easter bonnets. Mine was involving some carrots, I now have a chance of them looking rather good. A very big thank you. Cathy

    What orange wool do you use for the carrots? Because no matter how tightly I wrap around my skewer the finish just doesn’t come out as smooth as yours. I’m using carded wool for the carrot. Thank you ☺️

    Hi! I use carded wool batting from my local wool shop. They haven't specified the breed, all I know it's New Zealand wool, 28 micron. I would siggest trying a couple of thongs - flattening the wool with hands before wrapping. Also I would check all wools I have and test them as the micron count really impactsl the fuzziness. If one is working better than other, it might be best to try to use the same source for the organge. And I felted for quite a while so it's also important. Hope this helps! 🥕 Good luck!
