This song was recorded and then filmed in my studio. All the recording, mixing, mastering, filming, editing and uploading I do by myself in my studio.
"Carrie" is a power ballad by the Swedish hard rock band Europe released in 1987. It was the third single released internationally from the album The Final Countdown, and it is their highest charting song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart-peaking at #3 (#1 on the Radio and Records chart) during the fall of 1987. It also reached #36 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart. The track on the B-side of the 7" single was "Love Chaser".
The song was written by Joey Tempest and Mic Michaeli in 1985. An early version of the song that consisted of just keyboards and vocals, was played on a tour in Sweden the same year. The demo version was similar, but the final version that was included on the album The Final Countdown included the whole band playing.
On Europe tours following the band's reunion in 2003, an acoustic version of "Carrie" has been played, with Tempest performing the song on an acoustic guitar. In recent years, however, the band has switched back to the arrangement of the album version. A performance of the acoustic version can be found on the Live from the Dark DVD and a performance of the album version can be found on the Live at Shepherd's Bush, London DVD.
🙋🏼 ABOUT ME: My name is Alyona Yarushina, or Aly. I was born in Russia, and I am a singer, a musician,
I play the piano and do many arrangements myself, I’m in love with 80s and 90s rock. In Russia, I played with several bands. One of them is the best Led Zeppelin tribute band in Russia called "Plumbum Dreams". The other one is called "Back from the USSR", where we played Beatles songs in my own arrangements. We played in Liverpool, England almost every year on the Beatles week fest. My dad, Valeriy Yarushin is my bass player in this band. He's a legend of Russian folk-rock and his band “Ariel” was most popular in the 70s and still is now. I learned a lot from him.
In 2004, I won the “International Hopes of Europe” competition in Sochi, Russia along with the “Grand Prix” prize for singing I Have Nothing by Whitney Houston.

In 2018 my wife died at 47. She listened to Europe all through the 25 years we were together. This is one of the songs I played at her funeral (all Europe songs), and I cried for an hour listening to your version. "Open your heart" would make me cry for a few more hours. Please continue what you do. You are the best.

dude i know how you feel i lost my girlfriend 5 years ago to cancer and i have not been the same since songs love songs make me cry all the time and this version of carrie can do that

I was in high school in the early 80’s when many of the songs you cover were new and on the radio. Your versions are truly amazing and better than the originals most of the time.
