To this day, I still don’t know if either Margaret stopped because she hesitated or Carrie used her powers and confused the heck outta her.

When I saw Carrie as a baby, she is so flipping cute that I wished she was my daughter! Even though that later in the movie, she got powers and basically killed everyone at the prom.

To be fair that was their fault. The only characters that were innocent (aside from several bystanders because they only laughed at her) were Sue, the coach and the principal.
My big concern is how does she know she’s pregnant or maybe she really doesn’t want the child

Who the hell even put a kid in this woman
I am very glad they showed Margaret giving birth to Carrie it gives us a clue as to why she is sometimes in crossroads to love Carrie or wanting to kill her because the Margaret with Sissy Spacek was like die she is you're daughter I couldn't comprehend why a mother would want to kill her only daughter why not give her up for adoption instead of abusing her or forcing her to think of running away

Piper Laurie in the Sissy Spacked film, there is one scene in which you wonder whether she cares about Carrie or not. When Carrie is ready to go to the prom, Margareth says to Carrie to not go, that they will laugh at her. She seems genuinely concerned about Carrie and seemed to be trying to protect her from pain. It seemed for a moment the real woman behind the insanity was there. I think Piper portrays a mentally unstable woman perfectly . Margareth was in need for a psychiatric intervention for years, and the whole city turned blind eye to her insanity and the abuse she made her daughter endure.
Sheesh, what a horrifying depiction of birth.

I think the only critique of this scene i have is there is no umbilical cord connecting mother and baby. it was a split second decision to put the scisors down and pick up the baby and she had nothing to tie the cord with so she and Carrie should still be attached. bit surprised she didn't give Carry a biblical name
