I funded MODIplay in Kickstarter, the company that produces the Drift cars, and they announced over Kickstarter that the MODIplay product is now the Carrera Hybrid.

That's just a knock of from Anki Overdrive

The cars are Sturmkind RC Drift. They posted a video on their KZread channel talking about Carrera Hybrid from CES. The video is in German.

Hopefully they can use the NASCAR license with it, would be a blast with stock cars

This could be massive especially in a slot car club , your limited with slot cars this looks like you could get the numbers in to really bring in business that’s on a different level in the hobby of miniature car racing . Fantastic Carrera pushing boundaries and trying something different 🤦‍♂️

I wanna know what number 40 Porsche that is behind you?

It looks interesting but... sealed batteries in cars? That's a no from me. Who has a wireless controller with a dud battery? I'd like to see different curve radii and maybe a pit area too. There'd also have to be different cars as well. Just a though Carrera - have plain cars but supply livery sheets so you can customize your car to be unique.

You can change the battery very much easy but it's not a easy click and plug. So it's not intended to change them fast.

Nice one Trav, thanks for bringing us this. Seems like in the short term this could be a hit but I am not convinced long term. I know you can get mini RC so is this an attempt to appeal to that audience? For me RC is engaging because your actually driving, can you drive the cars without assistance? If you can then that would be awesome.

I agree, Paul! I remember the Micro Machines from my childhood. I also miss the Radio Shack Zip Zaps and X-Mods. I still have a few X-Mods I won't let go of 😂@@SlotCar2021

I had the hot wheels version which was a good idea that just didn't work as planned. So having said that this will be a pass unless they really do something unexpected

Yes, it comes from the inventors of "dr!ft" , the german Start-up called "sturmkind". "Dr!ft" btw is the best invention since the Gameboy 🥰

I see it as a bridge between their toy / rc line and slot car line. it would be nice if while they are in the business of building apps, they bring a new race management app for Digital 1/24 1/32

This is cool but all these types of systems the cars are so slow.

I dont think this product is for me, nothing about it just jumps out at me at all, this might change. Im excited for those that are excited but personally, Im good with Carrera Digital

Are they remotely controlled cars or not. People use the term AI without even knowing what it means. I think there was similar race car sets out there 30 years ago. There may be a little more sophisticated. It is still lipstick on pig.@@lucasrem

Nope, that is very wrong as you can already see from the video. Anki had no free steering, off track driving or simulated car physics.
