He’s a fraud system player who needs a super team and unlimited space to perform. He will never lead a team he’s just a cog in a system. Man city have won the league with him being injured a whole season. If Salah, Messi, Neymar, mbappe, lewandowski, and even ozil in his prime were injured a whole season the teams they play for will have a 0% chance to win a major trophy . The fact he’s seen as the undisputed best player in the league can only be explained by white privilege and that he’s the European darling by the media

Yeah, I'm a city fan and watching him play with those standards each week is almost normal for me at this point, I remember last season watching us beat Watford 5-1 I was at the game and Jesus got 4 goals and one of them was a header from de Bruynes' cross and his cross was amazing especially seeing it live as well curled right around the defence to jesus for a tap in

1. Lukaku only played 45' 2. Lukaku missing sitters... he just wasn't ready. Didn't play for about 2 months. And if luck isn't on your side as well than this happens. Lukaku isn't to blame at all. He's our all time topscorer. There was just something not quite right and the new manager needs to fix it. We all are nowhere near capable of managing such a team. We just sit here behind our screens and shout rubbish.

It's kinda weird comparing very different midfielders but KDB is easily the best of his generation hands down but I can't see what he does better than the other Premier League greats Scholes had better passing. Lampard was a better goalscorer and Gerrard was a more complete midfielder. Not to mention all of those players were from the same era and there was plenty of world class midfielders throughout the 2000's so the competition was so much higher. De Bruyne is great but how many other midfielders are at thag same level at the moment? I rate De Bruyne massively but I'm struggling to see how he is better than any of the current Top 3

Never doubt the greatest midfielder in PL history.

He is as a midfielder second to none in every aspect of the game. Unreal shooting with both legs, pace with the ball changing the pace, passing absolutely unique and breathtaking, crossing the best I've ever seen in my life and work rate. The most complete midfielder easily what a joy to watch and hopefully for many more years without injuries

Honestly if de bruyne has a UCL and a World Cup we would all admit he’s the greatest midfielder ever look at modric I hugely respect him genuinely modric is a top 5 mid for me all time and de bruyne needs a UCL to get in there for me but de bruyne is the greatest crosser of all time, he has a hell of a long shot, he’s a good ball carrier to take the ball forward into attacking positions, he has tremendous vision, through balls, both feet, even defensively he isn’t lacking too much there’s not much de bruyne needs oh and consistently scoring and assisting in the hardest league even as a utd fan I must admit he is insane and for me he is probably above Scholes, Gerard, Lampard and even worldwide maybe Zizou although they are different play styles

He’s been my favourite player in the premier league now for the past 6 years, and I have to agree with Jamie carragher he does produce every week,unlike some who have flashes of brilliance and who are raved about. I’m fed up with him being passed over for being the premier league’s player of the season,it’s about time he won it.

If you were to build a new team and could pick anyone I'd start in the middle with KDB. Nice to have Haaland, of course, but KDB is the guy that sets things up. The only one I can think of that has that kind of impact in the middle doesn't actually play in mid-field, last season Harry Kane had a slow start for scoring but by mid season his link play from the middle was incredible -- the header tip pass to, was it Bergwijn, his passing is insane.

I love Kane. Both linkup wise and numbers wise he's phenomenal. But sometimes it feels there's games he just ghosts through. Never get that impression with De Bruyne. And it also feels like Haaland has less of those games too - but obviously Haaland doesn't drop deep like Kane does but he nearly always impacts the game in the final third.

@@Anonymous-xr8hx Kane had a horrible start to last season with all the transfer nonsense and it took him until the middle of the season to get back into form. I don't think he or any of the Spurs are having a great season so far and as a Spurs fan I hope that changes. Interesting that the season ended with Arsenal choking against Spurs then losing the next week giving 4th to Tottenham, but this season has been so different. The Gunners looked great in preseason and have been on fire from the start -- hard to see them actually beating City to the title, but it isn't out of the question. Amazing to think there were a lot of Arsenal fans that wanted to sack Arteta every time they lost a game last season.

Hell still not go down as one of the best of all time. The true greats, Messi, Cr7, Zidane, Maradona, Pele, Ronaldinho, R9 they all did it at their clubs and for their country and won all the major trophies. De bruyne hasn’t won the World Cup or champs which is the benchmark for a true great. Hate to be that guy but it’s just facts

Grealish is a different player from the exciting marauding skilful attacking midfielder he was at Villa, running straight at defences with the ball, taking them on himself. Now, like you say, he's just happy to keep the ball, which is fine at times I guess, but overall the way he's changed his game is really disappointing

Hopefully he ages like Modric did. Seen as he's 32 come the new season. Also yes the man knows exactly how to hit the ball to evade the opposition & to find a team mate

During his time at Man City, he has been deployed as CM, AMC, LM, RM, RW, LW and even as CF. And when it comes to goals and assists, he has actually delivered in all of those roles. The luxury that Man City have is that when he gets older and maybe doesn't offer the same mobility, they can use him in the Fernandinho/Rodri role as well as even in the Messi role as long as the other 9 outfield players work around him. Because as long as he has the ball at his feet, he will always produce.

You could be the best crosser in the world but if other players are more complete than you they could be better. De Bruyne is a complete passer and midfielder in general which is what makes him the best midfielder in the world. Trent is a brilliant crosser but lacks in other areas compared to the players he's competing against. James is good at everything got example. So even if Trent is the best crosser in the world that doesn't guarentee him a start for England.

He's amazing but they did win the league with 98 points the season he got injured. People sometimes give him a bit too much credit and act like he's the sole reason they've won 4 of the last 5 leagues. Honestly for me the biggest reason for City's dominance is Pep. And Haaland for me is a level above even De Bruyne. Can't remember the last time I saw a striker this prolific this young. The fact that he's only 22 just blows my mind.

What you tell about Haaland is right, Belgium had 1 good half, the one with Romelu on the field, because he, like the city players runs into spaces.

People still doubt ability of Kdb for Belgium forgets what he did in the last world cup and the euros. He was their best player and still is. Man City has a linkup between players and a different playing style which suits Kdb perfectly. No one can blame him for Belgium's bad form. If not for kdb they wouldn't have been in World Cup.

In all honesty, no. I don't. Nile Ranger played for Swindon during the period De Bruyne played 3 games in 2 years for Chelsea. Seems weird they would pick a barely known Chelsea reserve midfield player as a comparison for their striker.

As a belgian i can definitely say he usually doesn't put in the same effort ever since 2018. Mostly because he doesn't have faith in the manager but seemingly also most of the players. The only times KDB actually plays really well for Belgium is when he's on the pitch together with Lukaku, who is i'd say our best player for the national team. People will banter him but his numbers don't lie and on the pitch he's one of the smartest strikers especially when linked up with De Bruyne.

Kinda disagree with Jamie. In my opinion, De Bruyne's poor performances for Belgium, in arguably the golden generation, will have a negative affect on his career. You've got to do something at international level to be on the same tier as a Zidane. Similar to why Gerrard can't be in that bracket.

No denying he’s a world class passer but some of these comments are crazy. The best midfielder in the world or pl history has to be someone that can attack and defend. The best player in the role de bruyne plays is messi. Could argue he’s not even the best midfielder in city’s history.
