I brought this argument up with basscat and they jumped my shit saying it wouldn't hold up in high traffic areas. Now we all know that it boils down to they just don't want to have to finish the lids out better in order to run the seadek.

I’m redoing a 2003 Nitro Savage and I’m going with EVA foam instead of carpet. I’ve had so many people argue that carpet is better but I don’t care, I’ve ran it on my Jon boats and bay boats with zero issues.. I’ll never go back to carpet again. Blows my mind you’d want something that holds moisture all over your deck and then years later you wonder why your decks are soft

One of the main reasons I upgraded last year from a 2012 to 2021 was sea dek. So tired of cleaning carpet and taking 3 days to dry. Wash sea dek and 15 minutes later it dry.

Thanks for the review, I want to put it in my cockpit in my ranger.

I always will want padded carpet on the front deck for noise, and for absorbing rain while driving. I love seadeck on the cockpit, back deck and in the rod lockers though.

I build and restore boats. Here in the Midwest this stuff it just getting a foothold. The boats I’ve seen come in for restoration with any kind of EVA flooring are more times than not, going back to carpet. This stuff doesn’t hold up well at all and is too expensive to replace every two years. Great for decorative places but heavy west areas looks horrible in a couple years. We had one boat come in, it was a Triton that was sea decked three years ago and it was shredded do to hooks and general wear. There was one place up near the trolling motor that looked like someone pushed off from the deck and it ripped up and this was actual Sea Deck. Great looking in the beginning but doesn’t last in my opinion. Best of luck to you all. 20 ounce marine carpet is still my go to for most all the boats I redo.

I have the h17 with the lighter colored seadek. And almost everything will come out, but I have a few stains I can't get out. If you get it go with the color he has.

Great video, love my seadek! The spray Xpress uses on the gunnel also doesn’t get hot at all in the heat of the day. Where can I find an Xpress hat like that, have searched all over.

Taking my wife to look at x21 this weekend see what she thinks of it. As a boat for us to have for the family. Still a year out or more before I get one but holding out for one for sure.

Would love it in my boat my carpet is shot to say the least,if you go sea deck will it effect the compartments?

I am in the market and Xpress is on my list. I wonder is Sea Deck an option for inside the rod lockers too? If I remember the rod boxes and storage boxes are carpeted.

The only knock I have on seadeck is it doesn't look as quiet to walk on as carpet. Not sure that makes much if any difference to the fish but it's one of those things I think about.

If you let it get mildewed I bet it would get slick when wet but I’m def doing this to my boat. I’m gonna start with doing the bottom part where the seats are.

Falcon boats also give you the option for sea dek

Long term will be the true test of durability. All my research has led me to believe that seadek has about half the life expectancy of carpet

Have you seen what carpet looks like in a bass boat after about 6 months of use? Not good in my experience. Just from normal wear and tear.

Most likely the darker color that will bring heat more than the product

Do the storage boxes stay dry?

Cheaper and better to do fiberglass with gel coat paint. Maybe some nonskid on top of that. You know, like real fishing boats.

Watch big bass dreams you can see for yourself how it where’s. As far as I’m concerned the best is straight fiberglass. My saltwater boat doesn’t have anything and it is the best wash rinse done

Seadek in Florida is the only way to go.

Didn’t mean to hit a nerve was just sharing info from someone who has had it for 2 yrs. is good stuff but does wear out in high traffic areas.

I can’t speak to the 10 year test, but I know what carpet looks like on a 1 year old 80k bass boat and a 10 year old bass boat. Not good. Regardless of what is on the deck it all takes a beating. That’s for sure.

Sea deck been used in deep sea boats for ever and it does NOT CAUSE U TO FALL MY LORD OCEAN WAVES 100 TIMES WOREST THAN LAKE. NVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN CARPET IN A BOAT EVER . UNLESS U IN A YACHT

Horrible trash company. I had Seadek on my new boat. After a year it started to peel up. I contacted SeaDek and they said it was installed incorrectly. It was installed on a new boat at the manufacturer. They refused to do anything....trash product.
